Surprisingly, I agree with trump's spokesman.

Media reaction to Trump campaign email leak starkly different from 2016, when Clinton was hacked

Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung reminded the press of their duty to fairness and democracy. “Any media or news outlet reprinting documents or internal communications are doing the bidding of America’s enemies and doing exactly what they want.”

Hypocrisy continues to be a feature of trumpery.

But Trump sang a different tune in July 2016, when during a news conference the presidential hopeful directly appealed to Russia to hack Clinton’s emails.

The entity Cheung's reference to doing the bidding of America’s enemies was of course Russia. Back then trump was soliciting Putin's help with the campaign. Soliciting and welcoming the help of one of America's enemies. Arguably an act of treachery if not treason for which he paid no political price. Such is the nature of the unconditional devotion of The Following.

As the article points out, there's another form of hypocrisy going on here. The media's. For all the whining complaints about media bias from Repubs, the overly sensationalized coverage of the Wikileaks document dumps unquestionably hurt Clinton's chances for election.

Here's How Many Bernie Sanders Supporters Ultimately Voted For Trump

As difficult if not impossible as it is to quantify the magnitude of the affect Russia's activities had in support of trump's election this is one concrete way to do so.

Russia had nothing to do with Hillary losing. That was all on her.

Jesus, what a stupid MF'er you really are...When Trump made that comment in 2016, he was tongue in cheek mocking the idiots on the left that were clutching their pearls over the joke....What Trump was doing in joking about Russia hacking Hillary's emails was to highlight that it was indeed Democrats working with Russia to fabricate a complex story about Trump to win the election, and it backfired because as Democrats will never learn, when working with America's enemies, then being amazed that they double crossed them...Dolts like you will never learn.....

HOLY SHIT! Are you suggesting Trump is a big fat hypocrite?

giphy.gif

Even if that is true, which you have no way of knowing, it does not excuse trump's conduct once it was understood Russia was supporting his campaign.

Sure, and if you had stuck with that argument, I wouldn't have replied.

If I had a dime for every time a abhorrent comment trump made was dismissed as him making a joke I could fill the tank of my pickup for free.

So we agree trump's conduct after learning Russia was working to help him win the election was despicable?

Nope. Most everything out of his mouth was and is pretty despicable but Hillary lost on her own.

Clinton was hacked? You gotta be kidding. The media loved and protected the dude. Didn't they tell us that his personal life was nobody's business but his own after it was revealed that he molested an intern barely older than his daughter? Where were the "investigative reporters" during the sex, drugs and rock&roll Clinton years? Trump doesn't have to be hacked. The left has Media Matters that analyzes and spins every word he ever utters and there are never positive Trump stories in the MSM.

When another X user pointed out that the hacked Clinton campaign material was dumped into the public domain by WikiLeaks, and that’s what led to some bad decisions by the press, Tanden replied: “The manner of the hacking made them cover a Russian psyop? That is not a justification. That’s a rationalization.”

Wiki said it didn't come from Russia.

/----/ "But Trump sang a different tune in July 2016, when during a news conference the presidential hopeful directly appealed to Russia to hack Clinton’s emails."
Trump was joking, but you already knew that. Here's what he actually said, not your biased edited quote:
“Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing,” Trump said, referring to emails Clinton had deleted from the private account she had used when she was secretary of state. “I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press.”

Your disingenuous attempt to link Trump's tongue-in-cheek comment about finding Hillary's illegally stored and deleted Benghazi emails to her campaign is ridiculous. If it weren't for lies and distractions, democrats would have nothing. Care to talk about the issues---do you even know what they are?

Pure bullshit

Trumpers and Trump LOVED the leaks when it was Dems being targeted

An unidentified anonymous "X user"? It's no secret that the Russians try to meddle in American elections and we do it to them. The point is that the U.S. media would do nothing to hurt a popular democrat and as a matter of fact they would lie rather than reveal secrets. Trump has no such protection the media is against him and so are the Russians.
