Teacher being shot by 6 Year Old is just normal.

Has this poor child already received physiological help and $ assistance from the lefty&lib community? - the poor thing and his innocent parents must be terrified, knowing the kid was so close and missed out on the kill.

Yeah, red states are more dangerous.

Jan 27, 2023Why it matters: Republicans have built their party on being the crime-fighting candidates, even as murder rates in red states have outpaced blue states by an average of 23% over the past two decades. Four reliably-red states consistently made the top of the list — Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Missouri.

Average IQ by State 2023

Average IQ by State 2023

When talking about the mind's intellect and abilities, the IQ test is a measurement that tends to be brought into the conversation. As one of many controversial topics globally, the IQ test is something that people are very divided on, seeing as it is viewed as a way of defining people's intelligence levels based on one test.
The argument against the IQ test is that one test cannot accurately predict the intellect of every single person who takes it because people are so different. The thought behind opponents of the IQ test is that there is far too much variety worldwide. Comparing everyone against one test is too simplistic to fully capture people's intellect levels.
On the other side of the controversial topic, many people believe that the IQ test accurately detects people's intelligence levels across the board. What is an IQ, and how do each of the U.S. states compare, based on their citizens' average IQ? Let's find out!

The Definition of an Intelligence Quotient

Intelligence quotients are a measurement of psychological parameters that define a person's intellect based on their mental age and actual age. The value found after dividing the person's mental age by the person's actual age since birth needs to be multiplied by a value of one hundred.
You may be wondering how the IQ scores were calculated. How could anyone possibly collect every resident's IQ score in each of the 50 states and then take the average of each population's total value? Researchers took a look at the average IQ test scores of anyone in the state who had previously sat through an IQ test in 2015.
People can find out their IQ scores online by taking interactive IQ tests. Many people take IQ tests when considering applying for Mensa, a community of people who fall into the 98th percentile of intelligence scores on formal, administered intelligence tests. Mensa is a community of people who all share an IQ score greater than 98% of IQ scores worldwide.
But when it came to the Washington Post study, the researchers also took SAT scores, ACT scores, and the estimated number of people who graduated from college in each state into consideration. The SAT Is an exam that high school students sit for before applying to higher education, as is the ACT. If you have not yet noticed, all of the variables that researchers paid attention to when determining the average IQ of a state had a lot to do with a certain level of education. This is because educated people tend to score higher on IQ tests than people who never received an education or who stopped attending classes before reaching college.
Average IQs vary significantly between countries. The United States has an average IQ of 98.

States in Order of Average IQ Scores

The highest-ranking state in terms of average IQ is New Hampshire, with an average IQ score of 103.2. The state with the lowest IQ score turns out to be New Mexico, with the IQ score of residents coming to 95.0 on average. There is a difference of 8.2 IQ points between New Hampshire and New Mexico, which is not as drastic of a discrepancy as you might predict there'd be among fifty states.
To be completely fair and transparent, the intelligence quotient is not the most accurate way of determining someone's intelligence. After all, it is nearly impossible to fully calculate someone's intellect because it is not a variable that is numerically represented. Instead, IQ scores are a way of trying to put a number on someone's intelligence. Below are the average IQ scores of each of the 50 states.
Here are the 10 states with the highest average IQ:
  1. New Hampshire - 103.2
  2. Massachusetts - 103.1
  3. Minnesota - 102.9
  4. Vermont - 102.2
  5. North Dakota - 101.7
  6. Wyoming - 101.7
  7. Utah - 101.5
  8. Washington - 101.5
  9. Connecticut - 101.2
  10. Nebraska - 101.2

Fair point. I had not remembered you said "shooting AND crime". I was posting based on the word shooting.

I have already acknowledged that point. Remember? High population areas have always had more crime everywhere, for a thousand years regardless of political parties.

The point was why red states are worse then blue states when both red and blue states have blue cities?

The only reasons I can think of is...

1. Blue cities in blue states have a lower crime rate then blue cities in red states.

2. Rural areas have less crime in blue states then they do in red states.

3. Or a mixture of the two.
blue cities are worse

The Teacher shot by a 6 year old filed a lawsuit. The School District has filed their first response. The response is, well let’s say it is curious.

The School District thinks that the Teacher should get Workman’s Comp as it was a workplace injury. A routine risk according to the District. So being shot by a six year old is simply a risk Teachers choose to accept.

Personally I don’t think the Courts are going to accept that argument. However the argument is laughable because the Administration was warned. More than once. They were warned the boy had a gun. They did nothing and the predictable outcome came to be.

This is how school violence is treated. Oh, your student sent you to the hospital? What did you do to provoke him?

I'm not kidding. Has happened in my district.

She can only bring a third party lawsuit to get any real money. It doesn't look like any third parties have money.

I hope she gets enough to live on from the district at the very least. As a teacher lawsuits have been necessary for a very long time. We endure physical abuse in schools that, committed on the street, would land perps in prison.

How did this thread on violence in schools and a teacher's lawsuit turn into a debate on violence in red v. blue states?

She can only bring a third party lawsuit to get any real money. It doesn't look like any third parties have money.
In Virginia, she can sue the school for administrative negligence. A direct lawsuit like any against an employer or individual so long as she didn't make a workman's comp claim. The school is obviously required to carry significant liability insurance. Far as "doesn't look like any third parties have money," the school's insurance company remains free to go after the little brat's parents if they like.. and good luck with that.

I don't know about anything of that, but I do remember seeing a write that said that the kid was able to return to the school as if nothing ever happened. To me, if that is all true, all of the other parents should be pulling their kids right out and enrolling them somewhere else.

God bless you and them and their kids always!!!

The boy was placed into hospital care. His exact situation and whereabout right now has not been released to the public.

The mother has been charged criminally in this case; I do not know the exact charge.

Almost all of the primary supervisors at the school have been replaced.

... because of their size, populations, and resources limited by those factors.

I have found that the small southern counties in nation are very dangerous.
with more population they should have more money and more resources…in fact they do

what small town have you found dangerous and why?

... that's you opinion, of course. You ignore distance, urban sprawl, concrete building up, so many different cultures in place, all competing for struggling budgets.

Almost all southerns (my opinion after a couple of decades) are essentially more willing to resort to violence.

It's my opinion? Well no, it's simple math. Govt gets money via taxes through the people...more people, should translate to more tax revenue, and thus more resources...pretty simple.

The problem is dembot policies and what they spend the money on...take Baltimore for example, they spend over $21K per student, making it fourth in the country on spending...yet some of the worse results...early nine out of 10 Baltimore City public school students are not proficient in math, and about 80% of elementary schoolers weren't proficient in English, Welcome to the Maryland Report Card
