Yep. They’re acting like nobody’s ever run across a virus before.Every time they change the standards they prove that the original standards were horseshit.A. Fauci first claimed masks were just a placebo and didn’t prevent infection.
B. Then in a 180 everyone must wear masks.
C. As cases skyrocketed they blamed people not wearing masks.
D. Then when flu cases dropped they said it was because people wore masks. Which leads to this conclusion: 60,000 Americans a year die from the flu, and not once have the ‘experts’ made a statement recommending masks during flu outbreaks.
E. Now it’s double, triple, even quadruple masks. No mention it better be N95, that nice crochet mask your wife made qualifies. Why wasn’t this stated last Spring???? We are talking about virus transmission, something we’ve known about for centuries. This isn’t uncharted territory.
Remember: if you can still breath you’re at risk!
Trump never supported any kind of face covering, except after he got the coronavirus, or was forced to in order to visit the ford plant making ventilators. At the same time TRUMP suggested people use scarfs or bandanas as face covering if it made them feel more comfortable, and neither Fauci or scarf lady supported TRUMP's suggestion as a good practice.
Direct Trump quote:Direct Fauci quote:
"there's no reason to be walking around with a mask."

Yeah. I really don't get this mindset.Every time they change the standards they prove that the original standards were horseshit.
Just like every time conditions on the battlefield change and the generals change plans, their original plans must have been wrong.
This is a republican mindset. Where it's more important for the leader to be consistent, than to be right.Yeah. I really don't get this mindset.
mudwhistle - when leaders choose a policy that turns out to be wrong, would you prefer they "stay the course"? Why?

Conditions change. At the end of February Trump said the cases were going down to zero. Based on that information Fauci could easily advocate against wearing masks. Not the same.....either masks were bad for you or they were good for you. Seems the experts are full of shit because either they were right when they said that you shouldn't wear a mask or they wrong.

But as Trump was being proven wrong on his "play it down" assessments of the coronavirus, Fauci and the CDC changed guidelines to reflect the reality of the situation, and not the rosy scenario that Trump was pushing.
