It’s time to recover a healthy American nationalism, and especially a cultural nationalism that insists on the assimilation of immigrants and that protects our history, civic rituals, and traditions, which are under constant threat.

Swapping fishing rights in New England back and forth with France was the big reason that New England was the hot bed of revolution in the war of Independence. Scottish nationalists exiled to the Carolinas and their willingness to kill anyone who was not advancing the cause of Scottish Independence during our War of Independence is another argument for nationalism being the big force in the drive to independence.
