The large campaign contributions are the gays just pissing in the wind. You cannot buy people's visceral opposition to that deviant sex cult. They know what the democratic party stands for morally. And it is repugnant at its core. (See the OP picture for details)

The democratic party has so much to offer though. It's middle platforms are real vote getters. The harder it swings to the deviant left, the more money it has to dump into campaigns to pull off even the mediocre results we saw this November. It's sad. All it has to do is scrape off the barnacles and that ship would sail and sail hard. But no, we sit on the bottom of the reef thinking "somehow the 82% viscerally-opposed to gay marriage will come back...maybe some more commercials? Some more illegal aliens let in? ....(who are fickle, catholic and bite the stupid gringo's hands that feed them once they're in)"

No argument from me there. When preachers can no longer preach what is in the Bible because it offends a gay person, it is time to realize that a gay person should not be put in a position of power. The word insanity that you used applies to the people of Houston that elected her.

A great allegory for democratic strategists to read would be "The Emperor's New Clothes". Long about ...oh...August or September 2016 a little boy will come up and start tugging at the sleeves of the crowd in the middle and telling them that "the emperor is naked!".

Just after his first 6 formative years, this boy raised by two lesbians suddenly wants to femalize himself by genital mutilation. "Gender identity disorder" could also be called "my gender doesn't matter disorder"

When specific liberal and conservative agenda items were on the ballot this election, the Left won and the Right lost. For example, "personhood" amendments failed in every state they were on the ballot. Gun control measures passed, as did every minimum wage increase that was on state ballots.

Since Democratic turnout was low, the success of specific liberal ballot measures, and the failure of conservative ballot measures, strongly suggests that some "liberal" agenda items have a lot of crossover with moderates and those who consider themselves to be conservatives, and that some conservative agenda items overreach and turn off voters.

This is why it is a mistake to conclude that the voters gave some kind of mandate to the GOP...

What happened this midterm with the good numbers of democrats that did turn out and voted republican/conservative wasn't a love letter to the GOP. It was a hate letter to the dems. They were telling dems how disgusted they are with their nonsense on the far far FAAAAAAAAARRRRR left. How can you belong to a party of people who attempt to subvert democracy at its core by ordering the censure of preachers under threat of arrest, for failing to promote butt sex at their churches? That's beyond the pale. That was the whip that drove the middle crowd R-E-L-U-C-T-A-N-T-L-Y to the right of center this time around.

All the other issues were important, don't get me wrong. Just not as important as that one.
