An Unprecedented New Lawsuit Could Force Trump to Release His Tax Returns

(In fact, 74 percent of Americans want to see Trump’s tax returns, according to a recent ABC/Washington Post poll. Four in 10 say they care “a lot” about the issue.) Then, the door was slammed firmly shut on Sunday, two days after the inauguration, when Trump’s senior adviser Kellyanne Conway flatly told ABC’s The Week that it’s not going to happen. “The White House response is that he’s not going to release his tax returns,” she said. “We litigated this all through the election. People didn’t care. They voted for him.”

Congressman: Rarely used law could make Trump tax returns public

Trump is violating the “emoluments clause” of the Constitution, which bars federal officials from receiving gifts or other things of value from foreign governments. He raised that issue in a Feb. 1 letter to Brady.

We know that state-owned enterprises in China and the United Arab Emirates are involved in his businesses, and that his business ties stretch to India, Turkey and the Philippines and beyond,” Pascrell wrote. “Russia, Saudi Arabia and Taiwan may also have ties to his businesses.”

Trump on not releasing tax returns: 'I won'

------------------------------------

Because Trump refused to distance himself from his businesses, he is possibly open to investigation under the “emoluments clause” of the Constitution. He might as well get it over with. Because the first time the Democrats control the House, we will find out the truth. Is Trump a Russian Poodle? Are Republicans really protecting him from that claim? If they feel so strongly about it, put up or shut up. Are they afraid of the truth, whatever that is?

Not another thread on this garbage.

If we're wrong, then Trump should have no problem releasing his tax returns. Everyone else does. Why shouldn't he?

I'm not sure what anyone will see in Trump's tax returns that will make Hillary an honest person.

Look carefully for the line item "SECRET DEAL WITH RUSSIA" on the returns. It should be pretty straight forward.

I saw this on the news earlier this evening. Sounds very interesting. Trump would probably be forced out of office if his tax returns become public. Then we'd be stuck with Saint Pence.

Just to keep you pathetic snowflakes in a high state of pisstivity.

He's not legally required to do it, so just STFU about it.

STILL WINNING: Appeals court hard tosses Democrats’ stupid emoluments lawsuit against Trump.

Moronic Nothing Burger Endlessly Flogged by Fake News

Washington(CNN)
A federal appeals court on Friday dismissed a lawsuit by hapless congressional Democrats alleging President Donald Trump violated the emoluments clause of the Constitution by refusing to allow lawmakers to review and approve his financial interests.
These Clowns actually though they had the authority to review and approve all of his financial interests.

The ruling is yet another major triumph for the President just days after the Senate voted to acquit him on impeachment charges. The case's dismissal effectively kneecaps one of several attempts vacuous Democrats have made to dig up dirt on Trump.

Before Friday's ruling the lawsuit was paused just as luckless Democrats began impotently subpoenaing the Trump Organization.

In the mother of all bitch slapping, the unanimous three-judge panel for the DC Court of Appeals said that the unfortunate Democrat lawmakers lack even the standing to challenge our Beloved President.

The Democrats' "claim is based entirely on the loss of political power," the appellate panel wrote in the opinion.

170516041552-02-trump-international-hotel-emoluments-medium-plus-169.jpg

The silly Democrat subpoenas in this lawsuit sought our Beloved President's companies' tax returns and other financial information about Trump's substantial business assets. The ill-starred Democrats also requested information about three Trump buildings in New York, the Trump International Hotel in Washington, DC, a San Francisco building, and the President's Palm Beach club Mar-a-Lago. But they never obtained the information through the lawsuit, because the Circuit Court stepped in first to hear the case.

Not A Question For The Courts:

"The Members can, and likely will, continue to use their weighty voices to make their case to the American people, their colleagues in the Congress and the President himself, all of whom are free to engage that argument as they see fit," the ruling states. "But we will not -- indeed we cannot -- participate in this debate. The Constitution permits the Judiciary to speak only in the context of an Article III case or controversy and this lawsuit presents neither."

That the ill-fated Democrats brought a case that presents neither, pretty well sums up the woebegone Democrat's entire week.

House Judiciary Chairman Fat Jerry says the House is still considering its options.
