The Flynn Affair Could Bring Down Trump’s Presidency

I think there needs to be an investigation into illegally wiretapping a US citizen then leaking the contents to the press. This is more troubling to me than anything else. Flynn's constitutional rights were flagrantly violated here and no one is even bringing that point up.

Probably won't need an investigation. I wouldn't be surprised if this dumbass administration admitted it in public by accident.
Actually the other side has, and in November to boot:

Also this classic:

The Flynn Affair is just a big wake up call to Trump that the permanent bureaucracy/Deep State/Banksters are out to get him. The solution is to surround himself with trusted staff, and to clean the White House and department HQs of Obabble/Soros operatives.
His cabinet is the Swamp.

Senate hearings on the subject, including testimony under oath, are likely.

If Donald Trump thinks accepting Michael Flynn’s resignation will feed the beast enough to sate its hunger, he is mistaken.

This story is big, and will only get bigger in the days, weeks and months ahead. It could be the beginning of the end of Trump’s presidency. To be sure, additional dots would have to be connected, but the picture is already beginning to come into focus.

The Washington Post has reported that Flynn discussed U.S. sanctions against Russia with the Russian ambassador during the month before Trump was sworn in. The subject of sanctions was not something that was mentioned casually or incidentally. It was the main topic of at least one of the calls. It did not slip through the cracks of Flynn’s memory.

In the final days of the Obama administration, government officials at the highest level already knew enough about those communications, and the lies Flynn had told about them, to be alarmed. Exactly how they obtained this information isn’t fully known yet, but it seems to have been based on some mix of wiretaps, intercepted Russian diplomatic cables, and human resources.

The Post reported yesterday that in the month before Trump took office, the Director of National Intelligence, the Director of the CIA, the FBI Director, and the Acting Attorney General all believed that Flynn had put himself in a compromising position. The Russian government knew that Flynn had discussed sanctions with their ambassador, and that Flynn had lied about it in public. Flynn had also presumably lied to Vice President Pence, who had issued his own categorical denial.

"The familiar and ominous cry of “What did the president know and when did he know it?” is creeping into the national conversation."

The Russians knew that Flynn had lied when he denied having discussed sanctions with the Russian ambassador just as the Obama administration was in the process of imposing those sanctions on them for interfering with our presidential election. This was something the Russians could use as leverage against Flynn. They could threaten to expose him. In a word, Flynn might be vulnerable to blackmail by Russia.

According to the Post, that concern led Sally Yates, the then acting attorney general, to inform Donald McGahn, Trump’s White House Counsel, late last month that she believed Flynn had misled senior administration officials about his communications with the Russian ambassador. Yates warned McGahn that Flynn was potentially vulnerable to Russian blackmail.

So what does all this have to do with Trump? Up to this point, he hasn’t been implicated directly in any inappropriate conduct. But the familiar and ominous cry of “What did the president know and when did he know it?” is creeping into the national conversation.

My guess is that Trump only fired Flynn in self-defense - but it's way too late. The genie is out of the bottle.

Most likely this was all to do about nothing. Flynn probably had spoken to many ambassadors as was his job. Telling a Russian ambassador not to worry about the actions of a previous administration is not even a crime. Thinking that he may have simply been trying to smooth over a tense situation caused by the OBAMA ADMINISTRATION.

So why did Obama expel all the Russian Ambassadors? could it be his shadow government was plotting to set up wire taps all along and catch Trumps new administration in sort of technicality? I'd say It would be a good bet in Vegas. You bet ya!

The only thing Flynn supposedly did wrong was give the wrong answer to the VP, but it very well could have been a mental laps after many hours of speaking to many ambassadors.
Hell Sandy Berger walked out of the national Archives with classified documents stuffed down his pants and was there an investigation to trace this guy back to Clinton? Hell no, because Clinton is Teflon. When he did this it was called a Mistake!

Trump just screwed up, he shouldn't have cut Flynn. he should have stuck by him, but he caved obviously to pressure by the Democrats

As far as the Democrats are concerned, if you even speak to anybody in Russia, it's a crime. They tried the same stunt making claims that Trump had business dealings in Russia. So what if he did? It's not a crime to do business in Russia.

You have to remember these people can't sleep at night. It's been that way since Trump won the election and will continue until he's out of the White House. So they are hoping and dreaming these non-stories are enough to oust Trump and his people. This will blow over in a few weeks, and they'll try to make another scandal out of something else.

And remember this!

ummmm, a bit of a false equivalency there, even if one believes the talks were improper given the nuclear negotiations. He was potus and had authority to settle claims against the US.

Obabble lied and then laundered money to send cash to Iran.

The story that trump's aides were in contact with Russian intelligence a year before the election has now been updated to they were in CONSTANT contact with Russia.
Yet not one deplorable can come up with a plausible reason why they would be in constant contact with Russia other than working on the stealing the election from Hillary and making sure the steady drip of stolen emails were released.

The Flynn Affair is a warning to Trump that the Executive Branch is chockfull'o leftwing/Prog/OFA operatives that are working to destroy his Presidency.

The sooner he fires a bunch of them, closes departments, transfers freight carloads to wee outposts in nowhereland, and reduces salaries to $1 per year for the Outraged Faceless Bureaucrats, the better.

If it is a phone call that is made to areas we are already watching outside of the US, then yeah, the phone call can be monitored. Flynn should have known that, because after all, he was working in intelligence at one time.

It can be monitored but the contents can't be released to the media. That is a serious violation of Mr. Flynn's constitutional rights. Where are the libertarians and the ACLU? You can't wiretap private US citizens then release that information to the public.

Explain how this is a violation of Flynn's constitutional rights.

LOL --- the lack of proof constitutes proof.... typical liberal misdirection.

You know, I find it funny as hell that Trump and his supporters are pointing to the leaks and saying how bad and terrible they are.

Only problem is, they are forgetting to mention the event that the leak was about, they are just screaming about the leak.

Trump liked it when Wikileaks was putting out all that stuff on Hillary, but now the shoe is on the other foot, he isn't so happy about leaks.

The only way he could lose his retirement pay is if he was charged with a crime, convicted of a felony and thrown in jail.
