What happened to the ethic that if you wanted to intervene and show mercy to poor person
who couldn't afford the fine, then YOU pay the fine FOR them. That would be fair to raise the money and pay it off if you want to support the payer.

But what gives who the authority to cancel or reduce the responsibility for the cost of damages? What's with this business of making decisions for political convenience or leverage BY PEOPLE NOT AFFECTED BY THE DAMAGES so the loss isn't theirs to answer for!

Same thing with the federal govt with BP to cap the damages at a certain limit,
in exchange for getting taxes paid by this big corporation.

What about the actual cost over time of repairing the damage to environment, businesses and wildlife? The restitution should be based on returning the damaged area back to normal REGARDLESS of the price.
Not setting the price first, for convenience of the WRONGDOERS,
and limiting the affected victims to whatever portion they can obtain and recover.

Seems backwards that Obama applies the "pay what you will" approach to groups PROVEN guilty for crimes and attacks.
But then when it comes to law abiding taxpayers, these citizens are collectively put under mandated conditions
to either buy insurance or pay fines, when there is no proof they had any criminal or abusive intent not to pay for health care.

Why this backwards business of criminalizing the law abiding with penalties,
while letting others get off easy who DID commit known crimes and violence.
