The speakers, delegates, and officials for the 2024 Republican National Convention began arriving in Milwaukee today. Due to the attempted assassination on President Trump's life yesterday, the atmosphere and tone is likely to be very changed as many media organizations seem to be revamping their original plans.

President Trump considered postponing for a couple of days due to his injury but reconsidered and decided to stay on the original schedule. He too arrived in Milwaukee this evening. Should be an interesting four days.

Wow. This thread really hit a nerve with the trolls. Who would have thought, but they certainly didn't get the memo for more civility did they? Well hopefully they won't be able to destroy it sufficiently to keep it from being used to discuss the convention and moving forward.

Meanwhile Biden called Trump as he should. Trump described the call as 'very nice.' Melania has issued an official statement re the attempted assassination. Both called to dial down the temperature/hateful rhetoric which was especially ironic on the part of the Democrats like the one who posted on social media for the shooter to not miss next time or the one who sent a memo urging the press to push the concept that Trump 'staged his assassination.'

And commenting on the documents indictment being thrown out, Trump texted the Patriots this morning:
"Now it's time to united the country.
We will reinvigorate our economy for all Americans.
We will secure our border.
We will show peace through strength on the world stage.
We will make America great again."

No accusatory or angry comment of any kind toward anybody.

This is the tone intended for the RNC Convention this week. All of the RNC hopefuls in the primaries, including Haley and DeSantis, have speaking slots. The tone definitely has shifted at least from the RNC side.

It’s a little late to be asking for civility, after nine years of Trump. It’s the result when you speak your mind regardless of the consequences. Trump and his supporters have a lot of nerve complaining now!
