While statistics on same-sex marriages are a bit harder to come by because of how new the whole thing is, the rate seems to be about the same as with opposite-sex marriages. The first such firm opened in Philadelphia, about a week after the Supreme Court ruling that legalized same-sex marriage everywhere. Conor Corcoran calls himself the first gay divorce attorney. While it may seem counterintuitive, like he’s preying on the carcasses of good marriages gone bad, he’s actually an advocate for gay marriage, but he knows that not all marriages will survive the test of time and his cynicism is tempered with a little humor. His site is even called AdamVsSteve.com, in an attempt to take what was “formerly a derogatory term or a denigration and turning into some matter of empowerment.”

“The whole thing about the sanctity of straight marriage being compromised by the notion of a homosexual union is the most ridiculous nonsense imaginable and it was high time to use some tongue-in-cheek humor and turn the denigrations that have been used against so many of my friends and family members, to flip it a little bit.”

Q stands for queer. Its a general catch all of all remaining alternative sexualities, plus family, questioning, and allies of the LGBTQ community.
