The next Republican President hasn't been born yet

It all comes down to whether the party can evolve...right now, it seems they are regressing as the party has been taken over by the 35% who are radical conservative

I also believe the party is not being helped by the rightwing media which does not allow them to compromise
They have painting themselves into a corner. They have long since kicked out all the moderates (read- reasonable) so they are left w/ a sycophantic echo chamber :blahblah: There are basically no adults left in the room.

They have taken a "take no prisoners" approach

A win/win solution is unacceptable because it allows the other side to win also
If Republicans get 65% of what they want...they still consider it a loss

As a result, Republicans have no major wins in the last 8 years. Even after taking both the House and Senate, they still can't win because they refuse to compromise

They would rather get nothing than allow Democrats to get anything

Hold on slugger, first you ramble along about the next republican president hasn't been born yet, valid arguments for some, and now its childish rhetoric proves republicans can no longer win? I think someone else said something like this in 1968.

You are welcome to look at the red/blue breakdown of electoral votes and show a path for Republicans to reach 270

I don't see it

Understood:

Here are the 20 solid blue states and their 246 electoral votes for a clearer understanding of just how skewed the Electoral College is against Republicans.
CA (55), NY (29), PA (20), IL (20), MI (16), NJ (14), WA (12), MA (11), MN (10), WI (10), MD (10), CT (7), OR (7), HI (4), ME (4), NH (4), RT (4), VT (3), DE (3), DC (3).

That's 246 Republicans
120 electoral votes left and you have to take 96 of them

As the Hispanic vote becomes more important in the next 20 years Texas and Arizona come into play and Florida turns blue

The next Republican President hasn't been born yet

Well, you might be a little ahead of yourself.

imo the republicans have a real change this time.

But past this?

Yes, your dem policy of importing Third World Voters to vote for your Third World Politics is succeeding wonderfully.

Good for you.

Is this a good time to ask again what benefit you see to coming from this for you or America as a whole?

Cause you keep resisting on that reasonable question.

Democrats don't import anyone and it takes at least ten years to become a citizen

All imigrants in our history have been "third world". For some reason, wealthy people do not see a need to immigrate in large numbers

The fact that in the ten years immigrants work towards citizenship they become repulsed by the rhetoric and actions coming out of the Republican party is not the fault of the Democrats

1. Democrats do import people, that's what the 65 Immigration act was all about.

2. 10 years? Considering this plan has been being implemented since 65, that is really, really irrelevant.

3. Link that all immigrants "Third World". And please explain relevance.

4. The fact that our policy is to import Voters who bloc vote Dem is the fault of dems. They were doing this long before the "childish rhetoric" of the other night, so it was dishonest of you to blame that.

RW, you gloat that the next Republican President has not yet been born.

That is not something you get because of rhetoric or even policy. Both of those can change ever election.

That is something you get with bloc voting.

So when you start talking smack about this Republican did that, or said this, you are contradiction yourself.

Also,

5. You never address the fact that telling those who you plan to permanently disenfranchise that it is because they are basically bad, or stupid or racist or some other BS, is going to just piss them off more.

What is your vision on how this will work out for the best, ie that you screw so many people, and then tell them it is their fault and that there is nothing they can ever do about it except suck it up?

Sorry pal...but Democrats do not force anyone to immigrate
In our past...Irish, Itallian, Chinese immigrants were third world

None of which excuses Republican inability to convince black, hispanic, asian or Jewish voters to vote Republican

Sometimes you need to look in the mirror to find what the problem is

Strawman: nothing I said claimed or implied force.

Beyond that you really didn't address any of my points, other than to ignore them and restate your claims that I had already addressed.

So, if you could reply honestly this time?

You just don't get it...

Nobody is permanently disenfranchised. As demographics have changed, it is up to the political entities to evolve to a changing electorate. The refusal of Republicans to do so can only mean......

The next Republican President hasn't been born yet

I cannot see the Repubs ever winning the WH again. Ever. Most women vote Dem. Most Hispanic and African Americans vote Dem (the former demographic is getting bigger every election cycle). Most gays vote Dem. Include the best part of 50 percent of white males, what is left for the right? Rich, white males and the white trailer trash who think the uber rich GOP political machine is their friend.

Republicans have found a way to rule from a minority

Carve up districts to give advantage to rural areas, change voting rules, disenfranchise urban voters, gerrymander a House, grab red states that are overrepresented in electoral votes

It has worked for the last 20 years but will come crashing own like a house of cards once the numbers become insurmountable

That's more or less how I see it too. The thing is, there are some good and interesting things that would work with regard to the conservative agenda, but their PR and sound-bite machine is so cynical and untrustworthy that you just have to look at them sideways because they can't be trusted to do the right thing.

Why hasn't the next Republican President been born yet?

Florida and Texas

Florida will be competitive in 2016. Beyond that, it will reside in the blue collumn. Republicans are incapable of reaching 270 without Florida

Of the big block states.... California, Texas, Florida and New York, only Texas is firmly in the red column

But with a 40% hispanic population and more voters swamping Dallas, Houston and San Antonio urban areas it is increasingly likely that Texas will become a battleground in ten years and blue within twenty

Texas turns and Republicans never elect another President

A cycle or two in the wilderness and some new blood and a new platform and boom, the political entity has evolved.

BUT your gloating has revealed that you know that is not an option in this case. Or at least a very unlikely one.

SO, please stop lying about it.

Bloc voting by minorities and split voting by whites, who do not bloc vote and the majority of whites will be permanently disenfranchised.

I have been agreeing with you on this trend. It is something other libs have been gloating about.

I have also been asking you to share with me/us your view on how this will work out to be a good thing.

Which is something you must think since you support the policies that are making it happens, ie Third World Immigration.

But you have refused to share your view of the future with me.

I'm beginning to wonder if you also think that such a future will be a nightmare for America as a whole and for White People in particular what with Disparate Impact Theory and no legal or political recourse.

But if that is the case why do you want it? Why push for an outcome that is not in the best interest of American or Americans?

So are the Poor whites.

Your bigoted terminology for poor Whites is noted btw.

Agreed.

Note how you keep going back to Hispanic growth as the reason.

Until I point it out and then you start blaming Republicans for "insert whatever here".

I've repeatedly pointed out that winning and permanently disenfranchising the majority of Whites is bad enough,

BUT on top of that, standing around telling them that it is their fault for being "insert whatever here" is just rubbing salt into the wounds.

I know that you've claimed that you are sure that Whites will just suck this treatment up,

But really, how can you think that?

Have you ever tried to think about it from the point of view of Whites who are going to be seriously and increasingly discriminated against and oppressed with no legal or political recourse, forever?

Rather than gloating, I am identifying a critical problem that Republicans need to address

Can a party called the Republicans eventually build a constituency that is once again capable of winning the White House? I believe they can.
Can this version of Republicanism ever win back the White House? That is no longer possible

Bull. This nation is still vastly Christian.

Having Christian influenced platforms such be a huge advantage in attracting voters.

It does not win the white vote outright. There are millions of white people who vote democrat. My point is that the white vote is split. The Hispanic, female, gay and black votes are heavily apportioned to the Dems.

I can only go on what I see on TV and on these messageboards. The right-leaning poor white folk come across as ignorant, racist and dumb. Maybe that's why they're poor trailer trash.

Sorry, that is not what you are doing.

Policies and platforms change with each candidate. Yet you are stating that the next GOP President has not yet been born.

That is at least 36 years, and more likely 50 plus.

And that's not to say it won't be longer.

That is NOT an issue driven by policies, it is an issue driven by bloc identity voting, which is the half of the base of the Dems and growing half.

Thus permanent disenfranchisement.

So, please stop denying the obvious and share with my your vision of what a One Party State America will look like.

You just don't get it...

Nobody is permanently disenfranchised. As demographics have changed, it is up to the political entities to evolve to a changing electorate. The refusal of Republicans to do so can only mean......

The next Republican President hasn't been born yet

If that was the case, you wouldn't be gloating that the next REpublican President hasn't been born yet.

If you read my posts on this thread, they have concentrated on the issue...namely, the electoral vote process has gotten to the point where Republicans can no longer get the 270 votes they need to win the White House

Rather than gloating, I am identifying a critical problem that Republicans need to address

Can a party called the Republicans eventually build a constituency that is once again capable of winning the White House? I believe they can.
Can this version of Republicanism ever win back the White House? That is no longer possible

I'm thinking about 50 years

Republicans have marginalized themselves and blocked out a constituency that can't win
Like I said, Florida and Texas will ensure that the next Republican President hasn't been born yet
Hispanic populations with entrenched memories of the racist rhetoric emanating from right wing media. The punitive and demeaning laws targeted at Hispanics

Bull. This nation is still vastly Christian.

Having Christian influenced platforms such be a huge advantage in attracting voters.
============

Only something like 17% of Americans attend church EVERY Sunday.

Americans < claim > to be Christian but don't act like it at all.

CEO's attend church on Sunday and then lay off 10,000 people on Monday in order to make 1/2 of 1% extra profit for an already highly profitable company with no regard for the damage they do to thousands of families and their careers.

Americans DO practice one religion faithfully though.

THE RELIGION OF GREED.

Attending church every sunday?

That's a pretty self serving way to measure religion.
It is a good measure of those who will use their religion to guide their vote
