The politics of adult services

Ohhhh so prostitution will stll be punished. Glad you cleared up. Just what I thought. There will be legal prostitutes with health certificates and pay taxes and illegal prostitutes without health certificates and pay no taxes. In other words, no change.

Criminal behavior is Criminal Behavior.
There is no change to "we agree to be infected by HIV, and have illegal Sex Trafficking, because you want to do what you want to do".
There is no change at all. Legalize prostitution and the legal prostitutes will be call girls and escorts. The high end. But they aren't arrested now. Fetish escorts won't be legal even if they make the most money.

At the low end, the street walkers, pimps who sell to their friends or trade for drugs and motorcycle club mamas who are pimped out to members with the club getting the money, won't be touched. They won't legalize. The casual whore, once in a while she hooks, she won't be legalized.

The net result will be no real change. BUT, the people who want legalization can feel really good about themselves and think they really did something.

So if you believe nothing with change then while argue against it? Those who wish to unionize and collect health care services can.
I'm not arguing against it, just laughing at the fools who think legalization will make a difference.

Gotcha. It will make a difference for the woman who get with a company or "sex service". Also good to know as a man if you goto a sex service there's no fear of being arrested. There is no such thing as "safe" prostitution, or anything approaching moral or acceptable. Anyone supporting prostitution is supporting rape, violence, dependency, enslavement, the trafficking of children for vile abuse, and the destruction of human dignity. There is no getting around it or spinning anything positive about it.

As many legal brothels that Nevada has, there has not been a single street walker taken off the strip or out of the hotel bars.

Nevada is an excellent example of how legal prositution would work in having legal prostitutes and just as many illegal prostitutes.

Illegal street walkers are arrested in Nevada, and they are barred from getting a license.

Yea but the good news is you can go to a place that's legal and organized. The girls have protection. Guns are legal, but still sold illegally. Media (movies, music CDs) are legal yet sold and distributed illegally. We can name many things that are legal but sold illegally. What legalization does is help the people who actually choose to follow the law.

So. It's not like they wanted a license.

The reality has to batter in at some point. The legalization of prostitution is one of those things that sound good. In theory it works just fine. The reality is just much different. It ends up the same way it would be as if there were no legalization.

Which is a very small number.

How so? Seems like you just threw that out there to further your argument.

My argument is that legalization makes no difference at all in the number of arrests, the incidence of violence against women, the spread of disease, human trafficking, child prostitutes or any other social ill that legalization is supposed to cure.

Your answer is that there is a handful of men who don't go to prostitutes now, but would if they were legal.

Even in places where prostitution has been legalized, illegal prostitution is still a problem. If sex workers want to unionize, if people want prostitution legalized, who cares. Just don't think it will help with any of the issues inherently the problem with illegal prostitution. The best you can have is both legal and illegal prostitution. Pimps will still ply their trade but concentrate on what they call "exotics".

The only reason pimps are able to ply their trade is because they know there is no legal recourse for the women they force to work for them. If there was, the women could go to the police, report the pimp, and have him jailed.

Now? Not so much, because if they admit they were being pimped out, they also have to admit to a crime (prostitution), which keeps them from going to the police.

And.............to tell you the truth................in places like Italy, Sicily, and Spain where they had legal prostitution, I never saw a prostitute that didn't have a health card that was up to date. If they didn't, I didn't spend time with them.

Even the ones that were independent and walked the street had health cards.

And yes, all of them required you to wear a condom.

I am in the middle of adding a link to a legal recourse that I made, on that website.
:)

Women can go to the police now and report a pimp or a man that beats them. They get immunity for their testimony.

Give whores health cards and the forgers have a whole new clientele.
