The progressive war on Christmas/Christianity

"Throughout history the facts can not be disputed, when governments combine atheism and the restriction of firearms amongst the citizens, the results have always been massacre of citizens at levels so astonishing that only the most profoundly ignorant minds ever try to reason their way around it."

"
Any atheist can choose to be offended by facts, but the facts remain.
Atheist governments + gun bans = slaughter of the governed."

Atheism And Gun Control - The History Of Governments That Slaughter Their Own Citizens

It's not so much the religion that kills people.

It's the dogma that they adhere to, while trying to force others to believe as they do.

Sorry................I'm not going to hell because you think that I broke a rule (like no dancing or drinking).

Wine was a gift from God to gladden the hearts of men, and Noah planted grapes so that he could make wine as soon as the Ark landed.

And...................making a joyful noise unto the Lord tends to make you wanna move and dance.

Militant Atheists' War on Christians and Christmas in 2013

by Ken Klukowski 22 Dec 2013

This Christmas season is seeing those who deny the existence of God pressing forward with a militant secular agenda, one that is intolerant—often bitterly so—of Christians in America.

...

Pastor Alistair Begg—one of the most famous and respected Evangelical leaders in America and the senior pastor at Parkside Church in Ohio—tackled this issue in a Dec. 8 sermon. Begg started with billboard messages in New York City this year.

The organization American Atheists relentlessly attacks common expressions of faith in many ways, such as suing the state of Utah for not revoking permits to a police organization that set up roadside crosses for state troopers who died in the line of duty. They’re pursuing their favorite target—Christians—with a billboard near the Lincoln Tunnel, which connects New York and New Jersey.

The billboard reads, “You know it’s a myth.” It then adds, “Celebrate the season with reason.” The group’s president, David Silverman, explained that it was to challenge people about whether they really want to “believe in what is, in reality, an invisible magic man in the sky.”

Another billboard is in Times Square. It’s a picture of Santa with the caption, “Keep the merry.” Then there’s a picture of Jesus Christ together with the caption, “Dump the myth.”

...

This is a reasonable explanation for the observation that atheist activists can be so aggressive in their zeal to banish Christians from sight and consign the Bible to the realm of fiction. It would also explain why they become so hostile during Christmas. If that baby born to a modest woman in a stable in a backwater town in the Middle East really is the human embodiment of an omnipotent God, whose character is so holy that he cannot tolerate wrong and who asserts the right to tell human beings to conform every aspect of their lives to his instructions, then he represents the ultimate threat to those who insist on being the supreme being in their own lives. An annual celebration of the actual birth of this historical person represents a profound threat to that way of thinking as possible, forcing many to ask, “Who is this Jesus?”

For countless millions more, though, it is cause for celebration. Merry Christmas.

When did "historically accurate" become "contemporarily accurate"?

So you agree that the Christian church is no longer the monster you claim (incorrectly, incidentally) it was a thousand years ago.

Got it.

I'm aware the Christian Church is not nearly as bad today as it was ~400-500 years ago.

My personal opinion on the matter is that while people have killed in the name of God, no one has killed in the name of the lack of a God.

Sure, they've killed in the name of Communism. They've killed in the name of Aryan supremacy. They've killed in the name of Maoism.

None of those are atheism.

True.

And none of these societies were ‘atheist,’ as Christianity flourished during the entirety of the Soviet Era, in Hitler’s Germany, and Buddhism in China since the advent of the Communist Party, as well as other religions.

In fact, the notion of an ‘atheist society’ is a myth.

As for Christianity, there is no ‘statute of limitations’ for the murder, genocide, and other heinous crimes committed as a consequence of that religion’s dogma; be it 500 years ago or 5000 years ago, the blood of countless victims of that faith will forever stain the pages of Christian history; and we still see the same hate, ignorance, and arrogance exhibited by many Christians today, on this very forum, and in this very thread.

Moreover, Christian atrocities ended not as a consequence of the faith’s ‘forbearance,’ but because they were eventually prevented from doing so by the manifestation of liberal democracies, and Constitutional Republics such as our own, where First Amendment jurisprudence proved the antidote for the bane of religious hate, ignorance, and intolerance.

That's it - confuse the bigot with logic. Great.

Atheism = murder. It's all there in "Conservapedia". Which fails to point out that the last PM of Australia is an atheist. So was Abe Lincoln.

All of which is remarkably on topic for a thread on Bull O'Liarly's fake war for Xmas ratings.

Abraham Lincoln was no atheist you idiot. He may not have been part of any organized religion, but his believe in G-d is not questionable

thanks :)

Superstition of Christianity (Quotation) « Thomas Jefferson?s Monticello
"I have examined all the known superstitions of the world, and I do not find in our particular superstition of Christianity one redeeming feature. They are all alike founded on fables and mythology."

"My views ... are the result of a life of inquiry and reflection, and very different from the anti-Christian system imputed to me by those who know nothing of my opinions. To the corruptions of Christianity I am, indeed, opposed; but not to the genuine precepts of Jesus Himself. I am a Christian in the only sense in which he wished any one to be; sincerely attached to His doctrines in preference to all others."

Thomas Jefferson April 23, 1803 in writing to Dr. Benjamin Rush

The progressive war on Christmas/Christianity

Is there any spectacle more revealing about how soft and moraly depleated Americans have become complaining righteously about the utter tragedy of some of thier shipped packages arriving later than expected??

The outrage !!! Oh the humanity !!!!

I saw one woman on a nationally broadcast "news" show in prime time opening up a box of live lobsters intended for a Christmas dinner. She was practically sobbing openly as she recounted the horror of the Christmas dinner that never was and the grief she had to bare.

How much sorrow and horribly bad circumstance are we Americans expected to absorb?

Where is the justice? Who needs to offer up a pound of flesh to make this right?

One cannot buy enough merchandise to be right with the spirit of Christmas and Jesus if the proof of our wealth is not delivered on time !!!!

What is disgusting is these scumbag liberals have weaseled their way into Pentagon positions thanks to obama and have implemented their anti-Christian bullshit.

An Army EEO officer told officers at an Army base planning a "Christmas" event that they weren't allowed to call it Christmas, it had to be a holiday party/event.

The VA blocked little kids caroling "Christmas" songs that didn't meet some pre-arranged list and other kids couldn't give Vets cards with Christmas or God Bless in the card.

Most people in the military are ok with Christmas and many times have some Christian roots, but liberals with zero time in the military are forcing THEIR BELIEFS down the throats of troops and Vets....while taking their benefits too.

It's high time the republicans offer a bill allowing anyone dressed up in the image of Santa Claus to openly carry assault weapons to defend himself against any who would question the validity of that which he represents.

Scum like you can't defend your own bullshit, so you try to make a joke out of it.

You make up bullshit claims like "that isn't true" then make a joke to try to change the subject.

You are a liberal goon taught to change the subject with smoke and mirrors.

It's high time the republicans offer a bill allowing anyone dressed up in the image of Santa Claus to openly carry assault weapons to defend himself against any who would question the validity of that which he represents.

Atheists sue to remove ‘Ground Zero Cross’ from 9/11 museum

By Jessica Chasmar-The Washington Times Monday, March 10, 2014

Atheists are trying to prevent the cross-shaped steel beams recovered from the World Trade Center wreckage from being included in the new National September 11 Memorial and Museum.
The Miracle Cross, or Ground Zero Cross, was found by construction worker Frank Silecchia, who said on NBC’s “Today” show that the cross comforted him. It quickly became a rallying point for first responders, as well as an iconic image, and it has already been installed in the new museum ahead of its May opening, the Religion News Servicereported.
“I was already working 12 hours. I was quite weary and the cross comforted me,” Mr. Silecchia said. “I never stood here before any media and said it’s about religion. But I say it’s about faith — the faith that was crushed on 9/11.”
The group American Atheists says the cross is a part of religious history and its presence on public property violates the separation of church and state.

Why Media Don’t Cover Jihadist Attacks on Christians

March 24, 2014 by Raymond Ibrahim

Church_attacks_from_January_2011.jpg

The United Nations, Western governments, media, universities, and talking heads everywhere insist that Palestinians are suffering tremendous abuses from the state of Israel. Conversely, the greatest human rights tragedy of our time—radical Muslim persecution of Christians, including in Palestinian controlled areas—is devotedly ignored.

The facts speak for themselves. Reliable estimates indicate that anywhere from 100-200 million Christians are persecuted every year; one Christian is martyred every five minutes. Approximately 85% of this persecution occurs in Muslim majority nations. In 1900, 20% of the Middle East was Christian. Today, less than 2% is.

In one week in Egypt alone, where my Christian family emigrated, the Muslim Brotherhood launched a kristallnacht—attacking, destroying, and/or torching some 82 Christian churches (some of which were built in the 5th century, when Egypt was still a Christian-majority nation before the Islamic conquests). Al-Qaeda’s black flag has been raised atop churches. Christians—including priests, women and children—have been attacked, beheaded, and killed.

...

If mainstream media were to report honestly on Christian persecution at the hands of radical Islamists so many bedrocks of the leftist narrative currently dominating political discourse would crumble, first and foremost, the idea that radical Islamic intolerance is a product of “grievances,” and that Israel is responsible for all Jihadist terrorism against it.

Progressive Christmas: attacking God, Jesus & the cross:

11/29/12

The progressive war on Christmas - and Christianity in general - continues to rage on. The latest example comes from a small town in Kansas that found itself smack dab in the middle of a battle with progressives who were oh-so offended that a cross was on public property! Hear the oblivious local news report and get Glenn’s reaction on radio today.

Kansas town flirts with “progress” and loses traditional values

There is a sign in the town of Buhler, Kansas causing controversy in the news this week. The sign in the small town, described as a town rooted in “small town values”, featured a large cross, representative of much of the towns values. The sign is now being changed following a law suit from the Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF).

Glenn was referring to the slogan on the sign that on one version reads: “Our second century of progress,” and on another says, “Tradional Values. Progressive Ideas.”

Glenn pointed out that the town is ironically up in arms over a group wanting to remove the cross from the public sign — they don’t understand why.

Well, because it’s a progress organization and they’re pushing their “progressive ideas”.

“You’re eventually going to lose the cross in your seal if your seal has “progressive ideas” in it,” Glenn quipped. “No doubt about it.”

Glenn continued to point out the irony in the situation noting that the communities solution is to move the sign to private property.

“What is the progressive idea? The elimination of private property,” he said. “If you continue with these progressive ideals and ideas, you will lose your private property. Which means you have no place to have your point of view. None.”

The situation with this town’s sign is a great example of what progressivism does to traditional values, Glenn pointed out. The sign mixed the church with progressivism from the get-go.

Both parties are trying to find the "okay" line here yet you don't seem to know what the line is about.

The Constitutions says, "Freedom of Religion" which does NOT mean freedom to enforce religious views on others. We came here because we were attacked as a religion and we wanted that freedom for other religions, even ISLAM!

This means even though it's a Christian based nation, we need to determine what Freedom of Religion is. What I've seen lately is the exact opposite. It's us treating other religions/anti-religions like we were treated before we came here.

Both sides are kind of wrong at this point when discussing what is acceptable to all religions in a Country with FREEDOM OF RELIGION. The sad part is some people still think "freedom of religion" means the freedom to force our Christian based religion onto others ><"
