Is it your wish to ban political speech by media corporations? The court found that differential treatment of media corporations and other corporations cannot be squared with the First Amendment.

The First Amendment prohibits Congress from fining or jailing citizens, or associations of citizens, for engaging in political speech including corporations. Also, first Amendment protections do not depend on the speaker’s “financial ability to engage in public discussion.” All speakers, including individuals, corporations, and the media, use money amassed from the economic marketplace to fund their speech.

The court found, that speakers (corporations) may have influence over or access to elected officials does not mean that those officials are corrupt and THAT'S the source of the problem right there. Why states not have Senators from the same party that controls the state legislature? Senators were originally intended to represent the states. Changing their selection to the popular vote was a deliberate move to mob rule rather than republican government.
