In my opinion they were the first great girl group.

I enjoyed that group. Admittedly they had a huge advantage over modern day groups because they had real music with hummable melodies and memorable lyrics to sing.

I think my all time favorite girls group though was The Supremes, both their sound and the songs they sang:
