The Times takes us on an uncomfortable stroll down memory lane.

DONALD TRUMP’S FIRST TERM IS A WARNING

This week, Republicans have tried to rewrite the four years of Trump’s presidency as a time of unparalleled peace, prosperity and tranquility: “the strongest economy in history,” as Senator Katie Britt of Alabama put it. The difference between Trump and Biden? “President Trump honored the Constitution,” said Gov. Kristi Noem of South Dakota. Gov. Glenn Youngkin of Virginia offered Mr. Trump’s first term as an example of “common-sense conservative leadership.”

The record of what Mr. Trump actually did in office bears little resemblance to that description. Under his leadership, the country lurched from one crisis to the next, from the migrant families separated at the border to the sudden spike in prices caused by his trade war with China to the reckless mismanagement of the Covid pandemic. And he showed, over and over, how little respect he has for the Constitution and those who take an oath to defend it.

The piece goes on to list the record in chronological order. It begins with Sean Spicer's lies about the inaugural crowd size, which in retrospect seems insignificant compared to the chaos that follows. Like his EO ending funding to sanctuary cities which was subsequently blocked. Then came the Muslim ban (also blocked until it was modified), naming nihilist Steve Bannon to the Security Council, and the abandonment of the decades long US commitment to a two state solution for Palestine. He fired Comey, revealed classified info to Russians in the Oval, and accused all Haitian immigrants of having AIDS.

As impossible as it seems, things got worse from there.

The sheer desperation!

LOL

Could you explain to me what qualified Jared to go to the ME to negotiate peace other than he was banging Queen Ivanka?
what qualified Kneepads Harris to be a senator?

DC has been going downhill for 30 years, and you're only get upset when a republican is in charge.

I'm sorry if you aren't able to see the whole NYT piece detailing the chaos and the policy failure. But those things happened.
I'm not saying they didn't. But voters have grown weary of the fear mongering. They don't take it seriously. In fact, they assume that if Dems are freaking out, they've picked the right candidate.

You need to sell them on an appealing alternative. You can no longer scare them into voting for your guy.

More like selective memory lane. I remember cheap gas, no international strife, kids not dying of fentenyl poison, young women not raped and murdered by illegal aliens and low inflation.

His comments about the defense of Taiwan has rocked the tech sector of the market. Strap in. It's going to be another bumpy ride.

Actually it was this.

The U.S., facing pushback to its chip crackdown on China, has told its allies it is considering using the most severe trade restrictions available if companies continue giving the country access to advanced semiconductor technology, Bloomberg News reported on Tuesday.
These measures would be applied to companies such as Tokyo Electron (8035.T), opens new tab and ASML Holding NV (ASML.AS), opens new tab, the report added, citing people familiar with the discussions.

He is clueless. He has no idea what the words of a President or former President can do, because he has no respect for the office.

So this had nothing to do with it?

This is the guy trump put on the Security Council, made a co-chief of staff, and campaign adviser.
