[Again, your ignorance shows no bounds. My story, from 40 years ago, about an experience that I was, unfortunately caught up in, was to make a point.

It was also COMPLETELY IRRELEVENT to the point I was making. Today, those evil German socialist have a crime and murder rate that's a fraction of ours, their police rarely discharge their weapons, and they lock up very few of their citizens. Their prisons are much nicer than ours and surprise, surprise, they haven't had a death penalty in decades.

Did Germany get over on us by letting us defend them during the Cold War while they got rich? Yup. Was that relevent to the point I was making? Nope.

[I somehow get the feeling, however, that your unfamiliarity with events back then probably had more to do with your "unwillingness" to serve and you now sit back and pass "righteous judgement" on those who did.[

No, I served as a reservist from 1981 to 1986 and active duty from 1986 to 1992. So you'd be wrong. MOS 76Y30, got out as a Staff Sergeant. So you'd be wrong about that, too. I respect anyone who served, but an MOS doesn't necessarily give you a brain.

[
Pity. living history is always preferred to reading about it, don't you agree?

Not really. Some people live history and still don't get the point. I look at the cold war differently. In order to "defeat" an economic system we didn't like, we empowered religious radicals in the Middle East, who have proven a greater danger to us than Communism ever was.

JoeTroll is having trouble following the clear logic. Ownership of guns is constitutional and so is sensible regulation of the technology involved in it (types of weapons, size of magazines, types of bullets, etc). So is sensible registration of folks who own them.

You are not going to get what you want.

JoeB, shut up your trolling, you partisan hack.

Gun ownership is constitutional, and short an amendment, you can't do a thing about it.

Roo is just as screwed on the other hand. Regulation and verification are constitutional.

The wacks on the far right and the far left are going to have to live with the result.

If regulation is constitutional, then completely taking guns out of the hands of civilians is.

You can't have it both ways no matter how hard you troll.

Unlike yourself Jake, politically I am 2 ticks to the right of center, as are most Americans.

Yup, Roo's head is twisted two times too tight. You are non-fixable because stupid can't be fixed.

I love alliteration at a fool's expense.

How do you know what I actually want.

I'm good with regulation and restriction, unless that fails to stop the death toll. I'd consider total confiscation to be a last step.

Joe's point is irrelevant. Sans removing the 2nd Amendment ownership of guns will remain a fact of life.

It was also COMPLETELY IRRELEVENT to the point I was making. [

You could get rid of guns tomorrow without touching the second Amendment.

Simply declare all private gun ownership is subject to regulations under the Militia.

Jake, look kid....I know this board is your entire life...but it isn't real....its just pretend.

You are no more relevant here than you are in the real world....I am sorry man.

Agreed. You can't fix stupid. I am giving up. There is no hope for him.

FOr a big tough army guy, your pussy certainly seems to hurt a lot....

"Big tough army tough guy". Hardly Sonny. My "big tough army guy" days ended years ago. I'm just an old grand dad now. Nothing on me is hurting.

You, on the other hand, are hurting. I know your type. Reservist huh? Good for you. 76Y huh? Skippy, we had a name for "soldiers" like you. REMF. That's you. You've been a REMF all your life, haven't you?

Must have a lot of good stories to tell your buddies about your days of handing out blankets and things like that, huh....always hanging out in the rear, weren't you?

A whole, entire life as a REMF. Good for you. I, and every other soldier, sailor, marine and airman appreciate guys like you who, while we were being shot at, spent their time taking inventory, so you could, years later besmirch our service. But, hey! you were an integral part of the "supply chain", weren't you.

REMF.

Great idea except the USSC has ruled the 2nd is an individual (not a Mitia) right so your suggestion would be unconstitutional. Fail.

Who would make such a declaration and by what authority?

The Second Amendment protects an individual right to possess a
firearm unconnected with service in a militia, and to use that arm for
traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home.

DC v. Heller (2008)

Gee, guy, MI wasn't "REMF", really? Frankly, they all sat in the back with their coffee when the supply guys were running supplies out to the feild every day.

And I'm not besmirching anyone's service... I'm just pointing out you lied your ass off about why Germany has a low crime rate, and you got caught.

Okay, you're not Col. Flagg... you're this guy....
