Right, and the last Viking to command a raid was Norman Schwarzkopf

Curiously I could only find one Viking named Norman. Norman Snead played for the Vikings in 1971.

the Norman's did indeed hail from Scandinavia.

Of course the Vikings were not "German" in the modern sense of the word.

They were Germanic - like most of Scandinavia except Finland
