They Wouldn't Bake a Cake for WHAT?????

I don't understand why a business that's in business to make money refuses to bake any cake for any reason, but I guess if bigots and homophobes don't want to bake a cake for a gay wedding, so be it. There's lots of other bakers out there who don't care.

But a BIRTHDAY CAKE? Are you fucking kidding me?

Oh. I bolded the last sentence because, yeah. Really.

Go back into the closet where you belong, freak. Things were much better in society when you abnormal freaks hid.

Oh. I forgot I was here.

Your mom sent me your baby pic. Cute! Fucking homophobe.

Let this baker pick and choose whom she wishes to do business with and if people find her practices abhorrent then they will take their duckets elsewhere. If her sales drop off she will have no one to blame but herself. Let the free market settle it.

I would like to have that discussion with you...where we both play devil's advocate and adopt the opposing position.

Would you be up for that?

Absolutely. Sounds like a great podcast topic.

OK. Let's do that.

Lol !!! The OP starts a thread on the same story that Tommy Twinkletoes has already posted !!
Of all fucking days for you people to worry about fucking bakers !!

You're more outraged about the bigotry of a goddamned baker for not baking a ga y birthday cake, than the bigotry of someone who just gunned down cops for being white.

Fucking amazing ~!

Not a wedding cake. A birthday cake:

It certainly wasn't the text message Candice Lowe was expecting to get on her honeymoon. She says it came from the owner of a local bakery, canceling the order for her wife's birthday cake. Lowe says, "after she saw my Facebook page, she found out that I was in a same-sex marriage and she could not do my cake." ... The couple was just married two weeks ago and are still on cloud nine after celebrating with their son, family and friends. But that all came crashing down. In some ways, they say, it's like taking two steps back. "It wasn't a wedding cake, it was just a birthday cake [for my wife, Amanda]," Candice said. "A birthday cake has nothing to do with your sexual preference."

Religious conservatives have been aggressively pushing for laws that would legalize discrimination against same-sex couples. They insist they need these hateful carve-outs—they need a special right to discriminate—because otherwise they will be compelled to participate in same-sex weddings, this is contrary to their "sincerely held religious beliefs" forbid, Jesus will have a sad, they will go to hell, etc. But it's not just our weddings they object to—it's our existence. Refusing to bake a cake for a same-sex wedding says, "I don't think you people should be able to celebrate or solemnize your relationships because same-sex marriage is a sin." Refusing to bake a birthday cake for a lesbian says, "I don't think your birth is something to celebrate because the world would be better off if you didn't exist."

Welcome to America — where bigoted bakers do background checks to avoid selling cakes to lesbians (because Jesus) but we don't require merchants at gun shows to do background checks to avoid selling weapons of war to crazed terrorists, abusive spouses, and the mentally ill (because freedom).

Oh. I bolded the last sentence because, yeah. Really.
best thing to do is let everyone know.

and the last line is just fucking ignorant and shows a complete lack of any understanding of our Constitution.

property rights
2nd Amendment
privacy

So you don't think all gun purchases should require a background check?
Not a damn one.

Homos can't just go to the grocery store and buy their own birthday cakes? Why do you care if some "bigot" doesn't want to overcharge you for a cake? Take your business elsewhere.
Or bake their own.

And perfectly legal in Ohio.

BUT- if the Baker had refused to bake the cake because the couple were Christians.....well that would get the bakery in trouble.

Yes- all part of the ongoing attack Christianity......
No. Christians would go to another bakery instead of whining.

The drama queens would rather whine

No kidding, these gays need one giant bitch slap if they are really stressing over a cake sale. There are a million different ways to handle it, like walk 3 blocks to the next bakery, open a gay bakery, make your own, etc.

Its gotta be about hate, gays hate Christians. They would not dare do it to the most obvious target which are Muslims, too much trouble to attack a PC protected group, let alone the death threats.

Every grocery store in America sells birthday cakes. And they will even personalize them for you.

They need to get over it and STFU.

Since Christians have shown a tendency to whine when being asked to follow the law and bake a cake- the evidence doesn't support your claim.

They don't need to do anything.

The bakers have the legal right to be intollerent bigots.

Their customers have the legal right to tell the world about what kind of service the baker offers.

If you don't like what they are saying- just stop reading about it.

Yeah people tend to get upset when their freedom of religion is encroached upon, I mean it is a Constitutional right and all

LOL

There is nothing about this bakery which says it is a 'Christian bakery'- nothing on their website says 'we are not comfortable selling to homosexuals because we are Christians'- this customer ordered a cake- the baker- for whatever reason- looked up the customer on Facebook and found out that the customer was part of a married gay couple.

The baker went out of her way to find a reason to discriminate against these customers. They didn't go looking for a bakery to refuse service- they just asked the baker to bake a birthday cake.

You want to support the baker- order a cake from them. Just hope your FB page doesn't reveal that you are a minority that the baker is not comfortable with.

Thanks for agreeing with me- Christians are just as likely to whine when they believe they have been wronged.
