There are folks out there that are actually trying to compare Obamacare with Katrina.

This is ridiculous. Katrina was handled much better than Obamacare has. They've had years to prepare for the rollout of Obamacare and they still got it wrong. Bush had to deal with local officials in New Orleans that refused to cooperate with him, so basically his hands were tied. If the mayor and the Governor refuses to allow him to bring FEMA in how can anyone in their right mind blame him for what happens.

It can be admitted that Obama has handled Obamacare poorly and only compounded the problem with his attempts with EAs to minimize the damage, but don't try and compare Katrina to Obamacare. Katrina was a disaster that was almost impossible to plan for. Obamacare is a disaster that just about everyone in Washington knew would be long before it was totally implemented and yet Obama and the Democrats continued to lie about it. These are totally difference instances.

Poor people m ight actually get health insurance. How horrible.

Much worse than letting them drown like kittens like Bush did.

Since when is Health Care a right?
Where was the Mayor of New Orleans and the Governor of Louisiana, dipshit.
Using your logic - the typhoon in the Phillippines is Obama's fault.

What a blathering asswipe...

A few people made a statement about Obamacare being the law of the land so republicans should stop trying to repeal it or change it.It's a done deal get over it.
So some on the right said well slavery once once accepted as being the law of the land and that was changed....

Well the Al Sharptons and the rest over at MSNBC went nuts....
Saying how dare the republicans compare ObamaCare to slavery...

you can in one respect....

both Katrina and obamacare...aong with obama himself...... are BOTH disasters.

I am so tired of "Poor people always could get health insurance, and health care. The problem always has been insurance has to be paid for......."

The better point is tens of millions did not get affordable and accessible quality health care.

1) There are no "rights", guy.

It can't be a "right" if it can be taken away from you. Since anything CAN be taken away from you, what you really have are privilages that society thinks you should have.

So the qeustion really is, should health care be a consumer commodity that only the well-off can afford? "If you have to ask, you can't afford it!"

Or should it be a public service that all citizens should have access to like police and fire protection and clean water and clean air.

2) Pointing out that other officials should have done more doesn't take away from the fact that Bush utterly failed as a leader. Keep in mind, after 9/11, he spent BILLIONS of dollars constructing this elaborate system of disaster relief and consolidated dozens of agencies under the banner of "Homeland Security".

And on it's first big test, it failed, miserably, and hundreds of people died.

The problem always has been insurance has to be paid for.......

No, the problem is we treat health care like a consumer commodity instead of a public service, like every other industrialized nation does.

Every other industrialized nation spends less, have longer life expectencies, lower infant mortality rates, and bankruptcy due to medical crisis is rare.

Medicaid and Emergency room treatment is FREE and so are the thousands of easily accessible FREE City and County operated clinics and Hospitals. That takes affordable and accessible off of the table.

You do have to make an appointment to a clinic, and the millions of FREE obamaphones that the poor have can be used to do that.

Most of the Doctors at these FREE clinics volunteer their services and are the same Doctors that the paying customers see. That takes quality health care off of the table

While comparing the ACA rollout to Katrina is way over the top hyperbolic, at least "they" are finally acknowledging that Katrina was bad.

Did anyone say that a hurricane that decimated a major city was good? No, no one said that.
Did people say Obamacare was good? Yes, they are saying it to this day: Pelosi and Wasserstein-Shmutz.

They are similar only in the sense that the president in each case has suffered from the media piling on to highlight the problems and deficiencies.
In Bush's case, he inherited a mess from Democrats.
In Obama's case he also inherited a mess from Democrats and doubled down on stupid.

Poor people can always go to an overcrowded emergency room and get treated with minimum care by an overworked resident, so what are you guys complaining about.

Ummm, yeah.

Jesus, do you people even hear yourselves sometimes?

And under Obamacare they can sign up to wait 3 months for the same service.

Emergency Room treatment is certainly not free. It costs you and me lots of money to give that "free" treatment.
