Things we can and can't afford

MisterBeale is self identifying his own mistakes with Obama, who in fact was no warmonger and was quite honest about his priorities of infrastructure, health care, and education.
But he did nothing for infrastructure or education and his healthcare was a disaster.
The Great Obama had a trillion dollar infrastructure and jobs bill that Republicans blocked

In education, he reformed student loans and provided more money to preschool

Obamacare succeeded and will continue to succeed. Republican attempts to replace it were a disaster

Thanks to an insane government run by criminals.

When will Americans wake up to the fraud being perpetrated on them?

Yes, it's ridiculous, and unless the system of how people vote is changed, nothing will ever change.

The only time lefties worry about spending is when a republican is in office. It's only been a year and a half and tax revenues have increased while the GDP is at 4.1 and the DOW is around 25,000 but the angry hypocrite left will always find something to whine about.

Eh?
"system of how people vote".... care to elaborate?

Well, people vote with a FPTP system.

This system tends towards negative voting. People will sometimes vote for someone because they don't want the other guy to win.

In Germany they vote both PR and FPTP at the same time. Last year 8% of voters changed their votes from large parties with FPTP to smaller parties with PR. The previous election it was 10%.

So 10% of people didn't want to vote for one of the main two parties, but felt they had to with FPTP.

It prevents third parties, prevents real representation within parliaments. It's a shitty system.

As if all left wing people think the same.

If tax revenues have increased, why is the deficit approaching one trillion?

Because Obama’s massive deficit spending which you found most acceptable, has been continued by Trump, which you find most unacceptable.

As long as the extreme wealthy can use their money to influence the system, nothing will change.

Yes, they've got the Supreme Court in their pocket, Congress in their pocket, and the Presidency is often just a show.

Yet many Americans think we have a government of by and for the people. How they could think this, is beyond me. The evidence is overwhelming.

Because they've been trained from a very young age to accept that which cannot be proven, and reject that that can be.

It's called religion.

Prior to the 1960's. Americans indeed had a deep faith in the government. As well as deep seated pride.
Vietnam changed that.
Towards the end of the war Americans came to know that their government lied to them. Directly and maliciously fabricated data and events in order to promote and continue the war.
And with this came tremendous change. The 60's and 70's were two decades of upheaval in government. People who were supposed to be elected (who the party put up front) were not necessarily elected. People who before were assured of staying elected, were voted out.
Sadly, this was the last time the American people exercised their power.
The party elites set out to prevent this from happening again. Two fold.
1) As the video shows, they simply routed around the people and corrupted leaders of both parties, so no matter who was elected...they get what they want.
2) They exercised "divide and conquer". Both sides started to demonize the other party.

Both have worked flawlessly.
And we are more divided now than ever before.

I'm not sure if it were illegal, whether the laws would ever be enforced though.

Look at what happened with Hillary. . . . .

Enforcement is always a matter of discretion with the government. . . .

"Every municipal and state Anti-Corruption Act creates common-sense ethics, conflict-of-interest, transparency, and campaign finance laws. State Acts create the opportunity for federal candidates from that state to campaign on the anti-corruption platform – accountable to their constituents, not special interests."
Here's how we fix corruption in America.

We Can Criminalize Corruption by Passing This Law.

It won't happen unless you have more political parties with more oversight and actual choice at the ballot box. FPTP just won't do that.
