Those Who Kneel During National Anthem Hate America...Just like Westboro Baptist

Lol so what are they independent contractors?

Yes. Furthermore, they are not contracted by the NFL. They are contracted by the teams for whom they play.

So the teams can fire them based on them hurting the brand, which is a provision in all of their contracts.

Sure. If the team wants to terminate, they can do that. Within the provisions if the contract, that is. Typically will involve paying guaranteed money, which then becomes dead money against the team's salary cap for the remainder of the contracted period.

NFL and NCAA have a right to suspend them.

Not really. Well, I don't know much about the NCAA, but the NFL cannot suspend players any time they want just for expressing something the league doesn't like.

Umm yes they can.

No the can't. Players are not employees of the NFL.
Sure they can. Break that fucking players union.

Violating a contract is illegal.
Who's going to stop them? The fucking courts? NLRB will change with election of Trump.

Im pretty sure once the contract becomes void it no longer effects the team's cap.

Then fine teams an team owners for every stupid fuck who wants to cry about making more $$$than 2/3rds of the population.

The NFL is controlled by the owners. You really think the owners are going to voluntarily pass new rules that allow the league to fine them just because a player expresses an unpopular opinion? Bitch, please.

You need to get over this. So you don't like what Kaepernick is doing. Fine. Why don't you protest him by standing up during the anthem? Or just don't watch the games. Do whatever you want. Live your own life and stop worrying about other people living their own lives.

Yes. The NFL already got their dick slapped when they tried to suspend Ray Rice indefinitely. Rice won that in court.

NLRB will change with election of Trump.

Even if Trump did get elected, it would have no bearing on the contractual rights of NFL players.

Standing for the Anthem is not a protest. I do not watch the games or buy NFL products. At this point only a dipshit would.

How many NFL players, who are in great physical condition, have worn the uniform of our country. Nuff said. Speaks volumes.

No, I believe it is not much of a stretch to stand for the 1minute and 30 seconds it takes to honor your nation during the anthem. How many vets in wheelchairs would love to stand for it?

League rules state that when a player is cut before the end of their contract, any guaranteed money that the player is owed will count against the salary cap, based on when it would have been paid out if the contract had not been terminated. For example, if a player has three years remaining in their contract, and the player is owed $2 million in guaranteed money for each of those years, then cutting that player will result in a $2 million cap penalty for each of those three years.

Fine. Let me ask you a question though. How could players be independent contractors when teams set mandatory hours for them to practice and play in games?
