He fired Comey, and then stupidly told all of the world on Lester Holt's show that he did it because he did not like the Russia investigation that Comey was in charge of... and then he told the Russians he met with in the Oval Office, that firing Comey that day would basically take the heat off of him with the Russian influence in our election investigation.

Even if Sessions had not recused himself of the Russian meddling in our election investigation, Sessions would have had to appoint a Special Counsel, and likely would have chosen Mueller as well.

Sessions should have never made it thru the confirmation process with him lying about his many meetings with the Russians, but because McConnell chose to remove the filibuster for Trump's appointments, the Redcoats got Session through, and he was confirmed.

The Republican Redcoats in Congress LOVE Sessions, and Trump is afraid they will turn on him, if he fired Sessions.
