The feces has hit the fan at tax refund time as low and middle-class Americans are finding that Trump has his hand in their pocket and has stolen money from their refunds.

The wealthy are still doing just fine. The lies about the Trump tax cuts is now exposed that the low and middle class are financing the tax cuts for the wealthy people and corporations.

Donald Trump won't be able to spin his way out of the tax cut lie.

Average tax refunds were down last week 8.4 percent for the first week of the tax season over the same time last year, according to the Internal Revenue Service. Dipping refunds are inflaming a growing army of taxpayers stunned by the consequences of the Trump administration’s tax law — and the effects of the partial government shutdown.

The average refund check paid out so far has been $1,865, down from $2,035 at the same point in 2018, according to IRS data. Low-income taxpayers often file early to pocket the money as soon as possible. Many taxpayers count on the refunds to make important payments, or spend the money on things like home repairs, a vacation or a car.

The IRS had estimated it would issue about 2.3 percent fewer refunds this year as a result of the changes in the federal tax law, according to Bloomberg. MSNBC reports that 30 million Americans will owe the IRS money this year — 3 million more than before Trump’s tax law.

“There are going to be a lot of unhappy people over the next month,” Edward Karl of the American Institute of CPAs told Politico. “Taxpayers want a large refund.” Some 71 percent of taxpayers received refunds last year worth about $3,000 on average, according to Karl.

Scads of taxpayers are complaining on Twitter that they have always received a refund — but now owe the IRS instead. ...
My tax return was better. Your stupid.

Tried to warn you fuckers.

You wouldn't listen
Warn us about what? Citizens keeping more of the money they earned? Why is that bad? That hardly requires a warning. You should be thanking President Trump. Dems wanted higher taxes and high tax blue states got their wish while most low and middle earners recieved a tax cut.

Perfect.

That’s what all tax code does...encourages or discourages spending habits and behaviors. I’d bet some people much smarter than you and I have good reason to frame such guidelines.

Yes, the people that want to control our lives have a good reason to use the tax code to try and influence our behavior.

People that are not statist or socialist think it is a bad thing.

The purpose of taxes is supposed to be to raise revenue for the government...not for social engineering.

But too many people are more than happy to be led around by the nose.

Hey look, I hate all taxes...PERIOD. I can play the role of anti government badass too...that’s fun to do in cyberspace...but guess what, unfortunately taxes are here to stay so why waste my time selling you on how badass I am?
Tax code does in fact raise .gov revenue but it also encourages and discourages spending behavior for reasons you aren’t smart enough to realize as you aren’t privy to enough data, historical and otherwise.

The funny thing about this is, liberals and the media have been consistenly bashing Trump 24/7 for over two years and Trump's approval rating is higher than Obama's was at the same time in their presidency. Trump is the man!

No it isn't.

People who have already received their tax returns have simple returns indicating they are most likely lower income. If you already pay very little in taxes why would you think you would get a big refund?

Trump 48%
Obama 46%
If Obama was treated the same as Trump, he would've resigned in his first year.

There were limits with regard to how hard the media and others could be on the Kenyan due to his skin color...with Trump being White there are no limits.

Anybody who gets a refund knows absolutely nothing about money management,
if you get a refund of say $1,000. That means you loaned the government $1,000 and got no interest for it.
Best thing financially is to owe the IRS just under what the penalty is.

And, the OP is off because once the bill passed, business adjusted your pay by paying less in taxes and giving you more in take home pay.
Refunds have nothing to do with the equation, instead look at total tax liability year over year.

That's false.

If you're planning on a sizable refund, the first you need to do is go to payroll and increase your allowances. Doing this will put more money in your paycheck for you and less for the government.

Why give the government an interest free loan all year long?

Looks like even THEY are getting LESS money back.

Yes....making the Citizens of New York actually pay for the massive taxes they voted for cost them close to 3 billion dollars in tax revenue as the citizens of New York fled the state.......but why blame massive taxes created by democrats when you can blame everyone else...?

The OP point is both dumb and irrelevant.

People that are too stupid to know the difference in lower taxes and lower tax returns weren't going to vote for Trump anyway.

But please believe the trolls if you want.

It AIN'T just the "citizens of New York" we're talking about dumfuk

So what you have just said is that you agree with the premise that the government knows what is good for us better than we know ourselves.

This I guess is not surprising based on your love of the government.
