To tout universal basic income, presidential candidate puts skin in the game

Andrew Yang, an entrepreneur and presidential candidate, wants to give every American adult $1,000, every single month.

To test a universal basic income program, Yang is giving two families, one in Iowa and one in New Hampshire, $1,000 a month out of his own pocket, according to CBS News. Yang is running as a Democrat and both states are early primary contests for the 2020 presidential nomination.

Here he is with Joe Rogan recently.

That's only $6.25 an hour. What kind of progressive piece of shit wouldn't pony up 15 an hour for the nothing you would do?

Explain this for me, please.

Scenario 1:
Caveman A shoots a rabbit with an arrow. On his way back to his cave, he is met by Caveman B, who demands a portion of the rabbit. When Caveman A refuses, Caveman B takes it by force.

What do we call that?

Theft.

Scenario 2:
Caveman A shoots a rabbit with an arrow. On his way back to his cave, he is met by Caveman C, who demands a portion of the rabbit to be given to Caveman B. When Caveman A refuses, Caveman C takes it by force.

Theft.

Scenario 3:
All local cavemen for an alliance to protect against attacks and plunder from other cavemen.

Caveman A shoots a rabbit with an arrow. On his way back to his cave, he is met by Caveman D, who has been appointed as the local governor of the newly-formed alliance. Caveman D, on behalf of the newly-formed alliance, demands from Caveman A a portion of the rabbit to be given to Caveman B. When Caveman A refuses, Caveman D takes it by force.

Taxation? What the Fuck?

Please explain how Caveman D acquired the right to take from Caveman A, when no individual under the newly-formed alliance had the right to take from Caveman A before the alliance was formed.

.
Socialism is about equality and equal protection of the law, not lousy capitalism. You merely need better solutions at lower cost.
LMAO! Holy fuck.

I have. Solving simple poverty by solving for capitalism's natural rate of unemployment can only improve the efficiency of our economy by increasing market participation. The private sector can only benefit with increased market participation.

The only "solution" you've presented to anything is to pay you $15/hr to stay in your mom's basement and smoke pot all day, and that's not a solution to anything.

The UBI would actually create jobs so that he can work and buy his own basement
to smoke pot in on the weekends.

lol The polls show Yang has less than 1% support and now we know why.

Although give him credit, he's the only Dem candidate so far with the stones to be interviewed by Ben Shapiro.

Good for him. Now if all the lefttards would put up and shut up they wouldn't have anything to bitch about and everyone would be happy.

This would essentially create more small businesses, more jobs, and less welfare
if given the time allowed for the experiment to prove itself, instead of letting in corporate-politicians to shut it down like in Finland and Canada..

A fifteen dollar an hour minimum wage is the cost of living adjustment for actually working. A fourteen dollar an hour equivalent is simply compensation for capitalism's natural rate of unemployment for the ready reserve Labor force.

...don't hear or answer any questions?
"Can't answer my questions ?"
Gee.....I've never heard that mantra before.:heehee:

The mantra of "Fuck you if you think you get to demand answers without giving any, ass clown"? Yeah, I'd imagine you hear that a lot.
get your girl friends involved who may need the practice or just for fun, to have him give you better answers or "be full of fallacy".

with some guys, you really just need to "get it All out if him".

Alaska has been paying out oil dividends to each citizen for 40 years and counting, no complaints or change in employment rate.

Alaska is paying existing money to shareholders. Far cry from simply taxing people and then redistributing it. Moron.

but it's not just "hey, give me money" as the funding for it comes from a very specific source with very specific requirements to meet. it's also nowhere near $1k a month, more like a year and that varies from $300 to $2000.

legislative actions have reduced the amount the last several years also. wonder why.
True. They also have an average median family income $20,000 times higher than the national average
so they're not bitching are they ?

They're also not relevant to the point you want to make, think you're making, and are utterly failing to make.

universal basic income? i completely and totally disagree.

you can't give something away and expect it to have value or conditions after the fact.

In spite of the predictable cackling and giggling, it's a pretty good interview.

Andrew Yang wants Universal Basic Income because we are experiencing the greatest technological shift the world has ever seen. By 2015, automation had already destroyed four million manufacturing jobs, and the smartest people in the world now predict that a third of all working Americans will lose their job to automation in the next 12 years. Our current policies are not equipped to handle this crisis. Even our most forward-thinking politicians are unprepared.

As technology improves, workers will be able to stop doing the most dangerous, repetitive, and boring jobs. This should excite us, but if Americans have no source of income—no ability to pay for groceries, buy homes, save for education, or start families with confidence—then the future could be very dark. Our labor participation rate now is only 62.7% – lower than it has been in decades, with 1 out of 5 working-age men currently out of the workforce. This will get much worse as self-driving cars and other technologies come online.

Andrew’s version of UBI—funded by a simple Value Added Tax—would guarantee that all Americans benefit from automation, not just big companies. UBI would provide money to cover the basics for Americans while enabling us to look for a better job, start our own business, go back to school, take care of our loved ones or work towards our next opportunity.

Yeah, it is a fantastic interview as long as you never ask where the money comes from.

Where is this free money coming from?
A new tax.

Ah, so new dems same as the old dems tax and spend.
From this field of candidates, I'd say the Democrats have covered every demographic and ideology except for maybe a cartoon character .

You should look closer, if you're not seeing the cartoonish aspect of pretty much all of them.

By all means, "enlighten" us as to how handing people $1000 a month for doing jack shit will "create jobs".

Because God knows, I need a good laugh, and your attempts to sound serious and intelligent are the funniest damned thing I've seen all week.
