Truly A Parable for Our Times

The Gastonguays, a hyper-religious northern Arizona family takes to sea to escape the United States and its “abortion, homosexuality, [and] state-controlled church.” It doesn’t go well and they have to be rescued in the Pacific.

Now the State Department is helping them get back to Arizona where Hanah Gastonguay says they will “come up with a new plan.”

Just like the Tea Party "revolution" when the house of representatives was flooded with inept rubes unqualified to understand the complexities of economics and public policy on a national level -- now we must rescue the United States from the cesspool of tea.

What exactly are the "complexities of economics and public policy on a national level?"

I really do need a liberal to explain them to me.

The irony is that they wanted to go become illegals in that country. And, they didn't turn down a tax-payer funded ride home courtesy the government they said they hate, did they? How familiar THAT is on this board!

Interestingly, AZ has what is known as the Idiot Law that requires people who have to be rescued, say from a flash flood during the rainy season, to pay for their own rescue. If ever there was an example of idiots who should be held responsible for their own stupidity, its this bunch. Especially, since they endangered their children.

Yeah, yeah, I know - they're not fetuses and so have no value to the right but they still deserve parents who have brains.

Just got this from a friend -

Wonder if Mr. Gastonguay did his homework, other than learning that the population of Kiribati was low?
Did he expect to speak Gilbertese, the predominate language there?

What kind of job did he expect to find in "the tiny island nation of Kiribati"?

"Kiribati is one of the world's poorest countries. It has few natural resources. Commercially viable phosphate deposits on Banaba were exhausted at the time of independence. Copra and fish now represent the bulk of production and exports. Kiribati is considered one of the least developed countries in the world. In one form or another, Kiribati gets a large portion of its income from abroad. Examples include fishing licenses, development assistance, worker remittances, and tourism. Given Kiribati's limited domestic production ability, it must import nearly all of its essential foodstuffs and manufactured items; it depends on these external sources of income for financing."

Kiribati - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Not sure how Mr. Gastonguay's religion would make out in Kiribati:

"...The population is predominantly Roman Catholic (55%), although a substantial portion of the population is Congregationalist Protestant (36%). Many other Protestant denominations, including more evangelical types, are also represented. The Bahá'í Faith religion also exists in Kiribati (2.2%), along with Jehovah's Witnesses and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons) (4.7%). The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints self-reports a membership of 15,364 (14.6%) at the end of 2011."

Is the radical left desperate for posts that have no meaning so they won't have to comment on National issues? How in the world do they make a quantum leap of comparing an obscure Arizona family to the Tea Party? Major Hasan is on trial for murdering 13 of his own men in a fit of jihad terrorism and the left is concerned about an Arizona family who ...gasp...hate homosexuals.

Yes, they are that desperate. Its provides a good morning laugh though.

It is a national issue. You see, it is the responsibility of the Christian to stand. Not to run. America is in the situation she is in now because the Christian church has failed miserably. While they flock to hear messages of wealth and prosperity the nation is going over a cliff without a watchman on the wall to warn of impending disaster.

This story reminds me somewhat of Jonah. He was sent to Ninevah to warn the people Gods judgment was at hand but instead Jonah decided to run. A storm ensued. While Jonah ( a representation of the church ) was sound asleep at the sides of the boat those who didn't know God knew this was no ordinary storm! The captain of the ship called on Jonah. He said, What meanest thou, O sleeper! Arise! Call upon thy God, if so be that God will think upon us, that we perish not. - Jonah 1:6

Imagine it! These men who served other gods telling Jonah to call upon his God so that they might not perish! I'm astonished by their faith - they did not even know Jonah's God! Let me tell you something people! This is precisely the condition of the church in America right now!

They not only won't deliver the message but they are presently looking for another nation to flee to before the storm hits!

As you can see, they were sent straight back here and instead of doing what they have been called to do they are now working on a new plan. Good luck with that. No one is going anywhere. No one is getting raptured out from behind the wheels of their cadillacs. No one is going to escape the impending judgment that is at the door for America.

There is only one thing to do. Repent. Knock off all the compromising. Call upon the Lord Jesus Christ and intercede for this nation as never before. We are not far off now from a nuclear attack on our own soil and although many do not believe the Russians will do it - they will. The Chinese will join them. As will North Korea, Cuba, Nicaragua and some other SA nations.

If the christians in this country do not turn off Joel Osteen, Joel Hunter, Andrew Womack, Rick Warren and the rest of these false preachers who prophesy smooth words while refusing to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ they will perish as surely as the people of Jeremiahs day who preferred the words of false prophets who opposed God and His Servants. You see, it wasn't just the false prophets that were slain in the day of judgment but the people who listened to them and followed them!

There is a way that seemeth right but in the end it bringeth forth death. This is the plight of American believers today. I would not call it a "State run Church" but rather a lifeless church that has Ichabod written over the doorpost.

This is the hour to return to the Lord - while He is passing this way and extending mercy and forgiveness to those who will return to him. Everyone has compromised. There isn't a single one who has done what is right starting with me first! Still! If we don't get serious with God now it will be too late to do so later on. All any of us have is today. No guarantees for tomorrow.

In closing:

There are only two things the bible records Jesus Christ having marveled at. He marveled at the faith of a Centaurion who wasn't a believer yet believed with just a word from Jesus his servant would be healed. Jesus didn't even need to come to his house. That mans servant was healed the very same hour.

The other time the bible records Jesus marveled was when he went home to visit his own family and friends. He marveled at their UNBELIEF.

What is Jesus marveling about in your life? Your extraordinary faith like the Centaurion? Or your unbelief? Like the unbelief of his kinfolk?

How ironic that an unbeliever had faith in Jesus while his own family did not have faith in him. The unbeliever got his miracle while the family and friends of Jesus from his hometown received nothing.

What do you want to bet there is a part 2 coming up for that one?

-Jeri

p.s. Does Jesus heal people who are not christians? You better believe he does ! ! ! You haven't seen ANYTHING YET!
