Trump is not just replacing all these people simply because he doesn't trust them. There has to be more to it than that.

Most people don't realize just how much power the president has. To think he would not use that power to stay in office is just wishful thinking. If the president initiated a nuclear attack, the Secretary of Defense would have to confirm it. Of course there is no Secretary of Defense. If the president decided he would use the US military within the US, he certainly has the power to do so. The one person that could check him by involving congress is the Secretary of Defense.
