New comments from former President Donald Trump are turning up the political pressure on the Federal Reserve as policy makers make it clear they are getting closer to cutting interest rates.

In an interview with Bloomberg published Tuesday night, the Republican nominee again reiterated that central bank officials should not ease monetary policy before the November election.

"It’s something that they know they shouldn’t be doing," he said.

Crazy how different of a tune he sings when he is not sitting in the White House.

In 2019 he was whining about the cuts not being big enough when the rate was only 2%.

And he whined and whined and whined that they should be cut (even below 0) when he was president and they already were at artificial lows.

Everything is about Trump.

I forgot about him pushing for negative interest rates.

The economy must be allowed to improve naturally without the Fed's fingers in the pie...

The Fed has their whole damn hand in the pie already, they need to pull out a couple of fingers...aka letting the rates go back down

You people are unreal, whining for the last couple years about how much the high rates are hurting the poor people and now you do not want them to come down.

Partisans suck so much

We need to grow the economy by rebuilding our energy sector and start drilling and selling oil and natural gas again.... not by interest rate games...

I guess I missed when it was we quit selling oil and gas. How did they keep this a secret?

Are you kidding?... you must be... I think you miss a lot by the way... we're not keeping up with demand at home so selling abroad of quality refinable crude just isn't an option....
Iran and Russia has gabbed that market from us when Joe shut down off shore and public land drilling.... now go place your head back in its hole....

We are keeping up with demand.

United States produces more crude oil than any country, ever - U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA)

We are producing the more oil and gas than at any point in our history as a country

We are exporting more oil and gas than at any point in our history as a country.

We are importing less oil and gas than at any point under Trump.

All you do is parrot talking points and do not even know what the fuck they mean.

Typical self dealing by the unfit narcissist.

The best way to improve the economy is by staying out of it...
OR
By encouraging businesses by providing a stable environment for them to operate within.

Infrastructure also provides a means to encourage business. Stopping monopolies or oligopolies is another way. Breaking up AT&T, Power Companies, remove blocks for internet access, interstates highways, ports and docks for shipping, railway, airports and etc.

Rate manipulation is all about Wall Street and the 7 major players (Blackrock, Prudential, Fidelity, JPMORGAN and etc).

If you wish to create a good interruptor and create business opportunities then:

Bust up Microsoft for platforms.
Bust up Alphabet (Google)
Stop wasting money on Verizon and Intel.

Accelerate chip production factories in the USA and moving the companies in Taiwan to the US. Assist DOW with refining Silicon in the USA OR Mexico or Canada. Assist in moving Pharmaceutical manufacturing back to the US. Go through Farm Credit with a machete and replace the Board with those who can follow the rules and stop messing with farmers.

If you wish to change fuel demands....work WITH the vehicle manufacturers with creating commercial vehicles that technology actually supports (hybrids) instead of EVs nobody wants or can use.

Push "Clean Coal" initiatives so that we can utilize the trillions of metric tons of yellow coal available and reproducible. (EVERY type of fuel can be made from yellow coal plus the drywall companies would appreciate a new supply of the coal ash)

And in EVERY way possible promote families and children with daycare subsidies, aftercare programs, parenting classes, and of course TAX BREAKS FOR Dependant CHILDREN.
