I don't know anything about Haiti, but I agree it is all about $$. Those who have it and want more have gradually been allowed to have the reins, in our country anyway. I don't mind if folks are rich, so long as it isn't done at the expense of others. I suppose you could say all capitalism is evil that way, but it also has given us more wealth than any country in the world.

I don't think capitalism is evil in and of itself, but where we're at with it now? It's a scam. A redistribution of societal wealth scam half a century old now. There is essentially no appreciable difference between this version of american style capitalism and soviet style communism, they're merely divergent paths leading to the same ultimate destination wherein the wealth and power of society is concentrated into the hands of a tiny majority of privileged elites. Makes no difference to me what political, religious or social stripes they wish to paint themselves in, that is simply part of how you keep the unsubstantial people seething at each other; blaming anything but the system.
