Most are unmarried or living apart from their spouse (61%). That revelation ought to end any nonsense about single motherhood being a decisive factor in fomenting poverty. Maybe in the White and Hispanic communities that is true but not in the Back community. Perhaps you step forward out of the 1960s and become familiar with the 21st century Black American woman.

Any out of wedlock children born to women such as these are not going to be impoverished. That validates that 75% statistic suggesting that most Blacks live above the poverty level. We've got that singe Black mother = poverty nexus resolved so lets tackle that single mother = crime issue.
