U.S. House Adopts 'Sue The Saudis' 9/11 Bill...

I can't believe I am doing this but I am actually standing up for Barry. He had a very valid point when he suggested that if US citizens are allowed to sue other nations for innocents being killed then it is very likely that other nations will begin to sue the US every time Obama's personal drone assassination program kills an innocent or every time an innocent is killed by a gun Barry gave to a Mexican Drug Cartel.
Saudi Arabia, like the US, can just tell anyone suing them to "GO FUCK YOURSELF".

Something the Republicans are apparently too stupid to understand.

This goes back to the earliest statehoods of the Westphalian system.

Kings do not need to suffer the law, because they ARE THE LAW.

Today, modern King's authority, or magistracy resides with the State...and thus the State is the Sovereign.

Again, something Republicans are too fucking stupid to understand.
Half the sponsors of the bill were democrats.

It's just pointless PR nonsense; doesn't matter who supported it, they just want to delude idiots back home in their districts by faking 'patriotism', while they sell out the country and stuff their own pockets. Nothing to see here.

:clap::clap:Finally, the U.S. Congress doing something that matters. It's time to seriously question our Government's close relationship with Saudi Arabia.

Saudis behind 9/11

The US House of Representatives has passed a bill allowing Americans to sue Saudi Arabia over 9/11, days before the attack’s 15th anniversary.

The measure passed without objection or opposition, but the White House is threatening a veto.

House Resolution 3815, also known as the “Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act” or JASTA, creates an exception to sovereign immunity created by a 1976 law, thus allowing US citizens to sue foreign countries for terrorism that kills Americans on US soil. The law has been invoked to shield Saudi Arabia from lawsuits over the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

Fifteen out of 19 men who hijacked commercial airliners and used them as missiles to target the World Trade Center and the Pentagon were subjects of the Saudi kingdom...

You're so stupid for applauding this.

Saudi Arabia, as a sovereign can just swat down any law suit like a fly, making the Republican Congress appear STUPID.

Wasn't it actually the left who bitched about Bush covering for the Saudi's now when it was barry doing it they think it is the greatest thing ever.

We drone /blow up shit all the time. Yall cool with setting a standard to allow these suits ?

Obama is protecting the US Treasury.

Unless we make the GOP cover the liability. It was their senseless war they lied is into.

What are the law suits going to do?

Just a dog and pony show. The same House has also pushed through so many bills the last two decades making it impossible for 'little people' to ever collect judgments they win so it's a meaningless propaganda ploy. Lawyers are scum for the most part, and there is no longer a real recourse to justice for any except the well off now, so forget getting a dime out of the vermin in real life. there is no way to collect, except for some 80% to 99% of a much much smaller 'settlement' ending up in some lawyers' pockets.

It's a way to hold Saudi Arabia accountable. It's justice. It isn't perfect, but it's the best we can do for 9/11 victims. Personally, i feel Saudi Arabia is the most evil nation on earth. Its Wahhabi Sunni Islam is the reason we have so many brutal Islamic Terrorist gangs all over the world.

Wahhabism is an awful form of Islam. It's taught to children in schools all across the Muslim World. It's the cause of so much horror in the world. I'm ashamed of my Government for propping up such evil regimes for so many years. The American People need to start demanding change. It's time to seriously question our Government's close relationship with the Saudis.

How does it hold anyone accountable?

That's what's so stupid about it.

Maybe the law should allow 9/11 Victims to sue US officials for their personal wealth for support for Saudi Arabia while Government officials.

Then that way, they can actually be sued...and the right people are sued.

Yes, too many folks are still stuck in that old useless 'Republican vs. Democrat paradigm. This isn't about that. This is holding Saudi Arabia accountable. It's standing up for our People.

It might not have to put up with it yet. But more & more Americans are growing very wary of our Government's close relationship with such an evil nation. These law suits bring some closure and justice to 9/11 victims. Numerous prominent Saudis were heavily involved with the funding and planning of the 9/11 attack.

The right people are being sued. But i hear what you're saying. You make some good points.

Good luck with that. The U.S./West owns the International Justice System. There is absolutely zero chance any leaders from the U.S./West will ever be held accountable for anything they do.

They're above the law. They can invade and kill at will. It's sad, but it is the way it is. Like i said, this isn't perfect. But it is a way to bring some closure and justice to 9/11 families.

It's time for the US Government to stop propping up the evil regime in Saudi Arabia. It's a despicable nation that promotes violent Wahhabi Sunni Islam. Brutal Terrorist gangs like Al Qaeda and ISIS were founded on Wahhabism teachings. The US Government needs to cut the funding and arming. It has to be pressured into turning away from violent Wahhabism.
