Manchin has a meeting with 8 republicans then writes a proposed compromise specifically for the republicans.

What do the republicans do?

What they always do.

They rejected the compromise.

We’re not helping you cheat in more elections. Fuck off.

No more needs to be said than that... well done!

We already have voting rights, dumbass.

See the 15th and 19th amendments that the Democrats vehemently opposed.

Manchin better be a tough guy because the Democrats are going to work him until he caves on their voter theft legislation. Then they'll go to work to on removing the filibuster. After that they'll tear up the constitution and we'll be a communist country.

Not much of a “compromise” given that the GOP has already made it clear they view much of what’s in it as Federal power grab from the States that they’re unwilling to support under any circumstances, what doesn’t Joe understand about “NO!”?

A compromise proposal would be one that sticks to the one area that there can be some agreement on, specifically campaign finance.

Not exactly shocked by this.

Why would the GOP work with the Democrats on anything….
The GOP already “worked with” the Democrats on the Tech Bill, so there is some room for agreement.

However why would the GOP work with the Dems on this one, when it’s clear to anyone that’s paying attention to detail that the Dems are only proposing this piece of legislation because they believe it will help their chances come election time? if the Dems believed the opposite THEY WOULDN’T WANT TO DO IT.

Anybody that believes that the Democrats want this bill purely out of altruism is mistaken, the Democrats are just as self serving and underhanded as the Republicans are.

Lost in this is the more we do this pure pandering, the more our decline will accelerate. Progress can only work if the wheels are greased with financial resources from a real growing economy.
