If I am going to stand in front of 10 million people giving a speech I write..I am going to write it....then I am going to ask for suggestions and editing by more than just one person. In short, I will give the gist of what I want to say, but THEY put it together for me. Hell, I do that here most of the time. Then again, I also agree with Faun that if he has the "best of the best" on his team and when/if he is POTUS, he is not paying enough attention TO that supposed best of the best team. Which again worries me a bit because being POTUS, mistakes like that bode not well for the rest of us.

From what I remember reading several times, a couple of speechwriters were hired a while ago and generated one but Melania didn't like it and proceeded to rework it the way she wanted. So it would appear to indicate the plagiarism was hers, not the staff's. The report that nobody got fired would seem to back that up.
