But once they were in the country, he had a sworn duty to arrest and prosecute them.

I'd rather that rapists and child molesters not be free to roam the streets looking for victims. Maricopa County is not on the border you fucking freak. It was NOT Arpaio's job to to keep the undocumented out of the US. Plus, Arpaio and Maricopa County Sheriff deputies were not and are NOT commissioned in any division of federal law enforcement. Their major responsibilities were to protect and serve the citizens of Maricopa County, NOT FEDERAL immigration control at the border 200 miles away or in between!

If you want to argue that point, take it up with SCOTUS and their decision in Arizona v. United States, which dealt with some of the practices that Arpaio was found violating arising from the unconstitutional "Papers Please Laws" within SB 1070 and which Arpaio refused to abide by after the ruling. That directly conflicted with portions of the consent decree Arpaio had agreed to enforce and subsequently violated, leading directly to his contempt conviction!

Arpaio thought he was above the law and now that fucking fat ass Clown in the Oval office has recklessly and stupidly proven the point that the Orange administration does, indeed, hold some people ABOVE THE LAW in spite of his campaign promises to be a "LAW & ORDER" president.
