That is slighly different. The British regime rule was in itself illegal, as was their white book. So they could not really declare Jewish immigration being illegal, or Arab immigration for that matter.

That is slighly different. The British regime rule was in itself illegal, as was their white book. So they could not really declare Jewish immigration being illegal, or Arab immigration for that matter.
How was the British mandate illegal, careful now, if the mandate was illegal so was the establishment of israel in palestine

It's the Palestinian logic - they think it's easier to try to eliminate Israel instead of reconciling the idea that Jews have rigths too. The 70 years could've been spent in a more productive manner. But those who're fixated on erasing Jews, usually have no other real goals.

Maybe the next UNESCO resolution will be on Holocaus denial..seems to be a hot topic there.

His Majesty's government view with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people, and will use their best endeavours to facilitate the achievement of this object, it being clearly understood that nothing shall be done which may prejudice the civil and religious rights of existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine

Of course, Arabs have rights but they stem from different circumstances.
The Palestinians don't have the right to erase Jewish history or demand a Juderhein Palestine.

There's to much to erase. Better reconcile with the obvious writing on the wall...it's called Sahara Yahudin for a reason.

The Arab Palestinians are just overcompensating for the lack of distinct identity and culture.
That's why they try so hard to erase a 3500 year heritage.

Depends on whether or not it neglects to mention an entire period of history and an entire peoples. I just checked the documents and it doesn't. So, no UNESCO has not delegitimized either the Greek Orthodox Church nor the Byzantine Empire.

Had the UNESCO award followed the recommendations of ICOMOS, and its own rules, it would not have neglected to mention an entire period (actually 2) of history and an entire peoples (actually 2).

There might still be the political issue of sovereignty, but the site would have been acknowledged to have been a Jewish/Israeli site (as well as a Mamluk and Ottoman one).

The support they receive in these world bodies has got nothing to do with historical accuracy, and everything to do with attitudes towards Jews.

It was more equal to them than to US. Balfour declaration was supposed to be the base. Factually, the Jews stayed with less than half of what was originally offered.

Like the Muslims, the Crusaders invaded and ruled over the existing inhabitants. They did not expel the inhabitants as long as they remained or became Christians. They were not settler colonists.

It would be unfortunate if they excluded the Jewish history, as many of them are descended from the ancient Jews. But, it is understandable given what the Jews have done to them.
 
has adopted a resolution claiming that the Tomb of the Patriarchs in Hebron and Rachel's Tomb are Muslim sites. Six Arab countries put forth the resolution. The Arabs are irked by the fact that the fathers and mothers of the Jewish People are buried in the so-called West Bank. They're a constant reminder of the "Jewishness" of the land. So that is why they are trying to rewrite history to usurp these places. There was even a clause in the original draft of the resolution, claiming the Western Wall in Jerusalem is part of their mosque on the Temple Mount. But that clause was so ludicrous that it was taken out of the final draft.
