US sinks to new low in rankings of world's democracies
The US has slipped 11 points in a decade – below Argentina and Mongolia – according the latest report by a democracy watchdog
Its a new low. The report highlights 3 areas of concern. The first being the corrupting influence of money in US politics. Everybody agrees with that. You get the society that rich folk want.
The next issue is access to democracy and justice and the way that minorities are disadvantaged.
The final issue is the level of gerrymandering prevalent in US politics.
The dems are addressing all 3 of these areas. If they are not successful then the US will sink further down the list of free democratic states.
Worrying times.
