US Women dominate Olympics

Baseball is not in the Olympics
It will be in 2028. Along with softball (thank goodness).

I’m hoping the MLB will accept the reality and suspend play for 2 weeks as the EPL does during the “international breaks”; so players that want to play for their national teams can do so without injuring their club. Start the season early in 2028.

That it isn’t an Olympic sport is nuts to me. Its popular on three continents--wildly popular. Its a sport that is easy to understand with a definitive winner. And it’s telegenic which is just a fact of life today in the sports landscape. The problem is that the games can be open-ended. A 14 inning game can wreck the schedule for a day or two.

Title IX was derided as wasting money on women’s sports, The Paris Olympics proved otherwise. In fact, investing in women’s sports is yielding more Gold Medals than investing in men’s sports
So they can compete against trannies when they come. You people do not give a shit about women or their sports. Stop the bullshit.

rightwinger got an answer?

The women were successful in winning medals, how does that have anything to do with title IX?
Easy peasy

Prior to Title IX, men got access to most of the sports budget while women were an afterthought.
Women should be Cheerleaders
Females had limited sports options and the sports they were allowed to play got substandard facilities, coaching and resources

Title IX said you have to offer women the same opportunities in sports as men.

The result was more women participating in sports and better performance on the international stage

That is partially true, but also female sports didn't draw money.. and largely still don't.

If women were denied being able to play sports, for sure. However, that's so long ago, it's not much in the conversation of today's issues.

I guess it's a factor, but modern title IX issues usually have to do with equal pay for sporting events.

Meanwhile, women's USA athletes have won more medals the past 4 olympics than men. But then again, the competition for women isn't nearly as elite as for men, even within their biological sexes.
