Remember the sequester? It was supposed to be dire. Worse than anything that ever happened. And I would bet most people didnt notice any effect from it whatsoever. This despite Obama's best efforts to make sure it inflicted maximum pain.
So what if the shutdown really means business as usual? After all, essential services will still be funded. The only things that wont are EPA bureaucrats and the like. And who wants them?
Perhaps with an extended shutdown we'd get some sense that we really don't need a government that gobbles up 1.5 Trillion dollars a year.
