Republicans fight gay rights, women's rights, practice voter suppression and bring up all kinds of bills to change the constitution they say they love so much. What specifically do you think the tea party wants to do? You, and others, denigrate them constantly. Do you have any idea what the tea party stands for?
My problem with the Tea Party is that they are the people most likely to be saying:
And they are the group most likely to be represented by the likes of Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachmann and Glenn Beck.
- Obama is a communist!
- Obama is a socialist!
- Obama is a Marxist!
- Obama is a Kenyan!
- Birth certificate! Birth certificate!
- Benghazi!
- Get rid of the IRS!
- Get rid of the EPA!
- Get rid of the DOE!
- 47%!
- Freeloaders!
- Medicaid bad!
- Social Security is a ponzi!
- Unions bad always!
- Income taxes are too high, regardless of where they are!
It may well be that you're fine with all of the above, and that's great.
Bottom line, personally, I think they are a real problem for the GOP - they make the party look silly, shallow and simplistic, yet they represent most of its energy. A real conundrum.
.
The problem I think you have is either you don't look for information and make judgements on what you see on internet blogs or just jump to conclusions formed by watching the Daily Show.
Here is from the following site: Our Vision Tea Party Patriots
Our Core Principles
Tea Party Patriots stands for every American, and is home to millions who have come together to pursue the American Dream and to keep that Dream alive for their children and grandchildren.
What unites the tea party movement is the same set of core principles that brought America together at its founding, that kindled the American Dream in the hearts of those who struggled to build our nation, and made the United States of America the greatest, most successful country in world history.
At its root the American Dream is about freedom. Freedom to work hard and the freedom to keep the fruits of your labor to use as you see fit without harming others and without hindering their freedom. Very simply, three guiding principles give rise to the freedom necessary to pursue and live the American Dream:
Again, I'm talking about image.
I'm listening to what they actually say, not the benign words they write.
Every example I used was something I've seen them say many, many, many times. And I forgot "impeach Obama".
A couple of people defended those examples, see above. I was correct.
If they don't understand the importance of image, there's nothing else I can say.
.
Exactly. I am talking image also and you have let the MSM and the raving lunatics on the left define your reality for you.
Of course Republicans are fine with moving millions of jobs to China. Look at what they did under Bush.
It was GOP policies that brought us all that debt to begin with.
I thought we were talking about the Tea Party not the Democrat of Republican partyh the indeed did do this to the country. Try and focus.
Republicans fight gay rights, women's rights, practice voter suppression and bring up all kinds of bills to change the constitution they say they love so much.
First, there is not such thing as "gay" rights any more then there are "straight" rights. It isn't Republicans changing things it is the far left. Besides, again we are not talking the Republican party we are talking about the Tea Party.
Of course Republicans are fine with moving millions of jobs to China. Look at what they did under Bush.
Might have happened under Bush but was predicted under the policies of William Jefferson Clinton. CLINTON was the cause and was fortunate enough to get out of town before the predicted results came true. I hardly think you or the democrats care about Americans and jobs when you are more then willing, and fighting for, cheap labor flooding our borders.
It was GOP policies that brought us all that debt to begin with.
Only a true partisan can ignore the last 8 years of democrat rule and make such a statement. I could provide the graphs but what would be the point?
But again, you people always say that the Tea Party is the extreme right of the Republican party and there is in fighting between them and the main stream GOP. Seems to me you would be on the side of the TP if they are fighting the GOP. How about it? Got enough integrity?
