What specifically do you think the tea party wants to do? You, and others, denigrate them constantly. Do you have any idea what the tea party stands for?

My problem with the Tea Party is that they are the people most likely to be saying:
  • Obama is a communist!
  • Obama is a socialist!
  • Obama is a Marxist!
  • Obama is a Kenyan!
  • Birth certificate! Birth certificate!
  • Benghazi!
  • Get rid of the IRS!
  • Get rid of the EPA!
  • Get rid of the DOE!
  • 47%!
  • Freeloaders!
  • Medicaid bad!
  • Social Security is a ponzi!
  • Unions bad always!
  • Income taxes are too high, regardless of where they are!
And they are the group most likely to be represented by the likes of Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachmann and Glenn Beck.

It may well be that you're fine with all of the above, and that's great.

Bottom line, personally, I think they are a real problem for the GOP - they make the party look silly, shallow and simplistic, yet they represent most of its energy. A real conundrum.

.

The problem I think you have is either you don't look for information and make judgements on what you see on internet blogs or just jump to conclusions formed by watching the Daily Show.

I'm listening to what they actually say, not the benign words they write.

Every example I used was something I've seen them say many, many, many times. And I forgot "impeach Obama".

A couple of people defended those examples, see above. I was correct.

Exactly. I am talking image also and you have let the MSM and the raving lunatics on the left define your reality for you.
Republicans fight gay rights, women's rights, practice voter suppression and bring up all kinds of bills to change the constitution they say they love so much.
Of course Republicans are fine with moving millions of jobs to China. Look at what they did under Bush.
It was GOP policies that brought us all that debt to begin with.

I thought we were talking about the Tea Party not the Democrat of Republican partyh the indeed did do this to the country. Try and focus.

Republicans fight gay rights, women's rights, practice voter suppression and bring up all kinds of bills to change the constitution they say they love so much.

First, there is not such thing as "gay" rights any more then there are "straight" rights. It isn't Republicans changing things it is the far left. Besides, again we are not talking the Republican party we are talking about the Tea Party.
Of course Republicans are fine with moving millions of jobs to China. Look at what they did under Bush.

Might have happened under Bush but was predicted under the policies of William Jefferson Clinton. CLINTON was the cause and was fortunate enough to get out of town before the predicted results came true. I hardly think you or the democrats care about Americans and jobs when you are more then willing, and fighting for, cheap labor flooding our borders.
It was GOP policies that brought us all that debt to begin with.

Only a true partisan can ignore the last 8 years of democrat rule and make such a statement. I could provide the graphs but what would be the point?

But again, you people always say that the Tea Party is the extreme right of the Republican party and there is in fighting between them and the main stream GOP. Seems to me you would be on the side of the TP if they are fighting the GOP. How about it? Got enough integrity?

when your statements favor one side-----------you are on that side. Your false categorization of the tea party makes puts you on the side of the liberals and their lies.

if I have you wrong, my mistake, but your rhetoric makes me wonder

Well, on this topic, I guess I'd agree with the liberals. On some others, too. On yet others, I agree with conservatives, and on others I disagree with both.

I guess that's why I'm an independent.

.

Ok, so you agree with the liberals when they lie about the tea party? does that make sense? I gave you a link to the tea party website, if you really are interested in the truth, read it. Or you could choose to remain ignorant and buy the lies from the left. your choice. A real independent would want all of the facts, makes me wonder what you really are.

I'm just making an observation. I gave several specific examples of things they actually say, and they were defended by other posters. How can I be lying when that happens?

I can point at Sarah Palin and say that her "speeches" are chock-full of tedious, simplistic, shallow platitudes and that I sometimes wonder about Michelle Bachmann's sanity. I listen to Rush and Hannity and Levin now and then, a few hours a week, and it's abundantly clear that they're feeding this.

I don't need some left-winger to tell me that stuff, it's all right in front of my nose.

.

you just don't get it. "they" do not say those things, some individuals say them. The whole is not represented by what a small part of it says.

Do Sharpton's foolish statements mean that all democrats and liberals agree with him?

you are being childish on this topic, I thought you were smarter than that.

So you're saying that when I see things with my own eyes and hear things with my own ears that I'm actually not?

And if "some individuals" say things that make a movement look bad, then that's the way it goes, it looks bad.

The movement would be helping itself if had a little conversation with those people.

.

Iagree. I would suggest the same for the democrats and Sharpton

Clinton wasn't the cause. Nixon started the current relationship with China. And Republicans did nothing to stop the movement of jobs to China under Bush.

Nothing happens in an instant. The six years Republicans held the congress was the beginning of the end of the economy. And Bush was still president. He could veto anything the Democrats tried to do to fix the GOP mess. And the economy has come pretty far back considering GOP obstructionism under Obama.

Come on. You have to do better. It's recent history. Much too soon to rewrite. At least Republicans waited a decade before rewriting Reagan's failed legacy.

Blacks make up only around 12% of the population of the country. They are a significant part of the Democratic Party. Many are not even liberal and don't like gays even more than Republicans. Sharpton doesn't even represent all the blacks.

But the Republican Party is 90% white. The base approves of raising the minimum wage, of equal pay for equal work, school lunches and many other policies their leaders vote against. The GOP don't even know what their leaders stand for and blindly vote for them anyway. Remember, the first thing McConnell said he wanted to work on wasn't jobs, or the economy or Isis or Ebola or infrastructure. No, it was "corporate tax". And even though US corporate tax is the highest in the world, all the subsidies and loopholes makes what they actually pay among the lowest. So why bother? Because the GOP leadership squats on their base. They take it for granted the 90% white will vote white. What else could it be?

Actually it is debated the effects of free trade agreements. Most say that they did not have the effect that Perot predicted. I disagree but either way what you are saying is just pure BS, once again.

Every example I used was something I've seen them say many, many, many times. And I forgot "impeach Obama".

A couple of people defended those examples, see above. I was correct.

If they don't understand the importance of image, there's nothing else I can say.

.

No such things as "gay rights"? Then why does the GOP target gays?

They don't, a better question is why do you make up a lie then expect people to respond to the lie?

Actually it is debated the effects of free trade agreements. Most say that they did not have the effect that Perot predicted. I disagree but either way what you are saying is just pure BS, once again.

Isn't that a joke. The left has critiqued Bush for his vetos and now you say he could have vetoed more. You need to check talking points more closely.

Why? the left wing is trying to write Obama's and he hasn't even completed his destruction of America.

Let me post this again:

EXCLUSIVE Richard Grenell hounded from Romney campaign by anti-gay conservatives - Right Turn - The Washington Post

What does that tell you?

claiming the Gop is going to TARGET homosexuals. You JUST LOST power because of this kind of BS. but you will carry it on for them, WON'T YOU

I believe the people spoke loud and clear that homosexuals was the furthest thing on their list OF PRIORITIES as to why they voted you nasty people out of running our Government

you're such a hateful disgusting LOSER

You think the GOP doesn't target gays? Seriously? You've got to be a fool.

EXCLUSIVE Richard Grenell hounded from Romney campaign by anti-gay conservatives - Right Turn - The Washington Post

So what you are telling me is that they hired him just to fire him? Really? They hired a openingly gay man just so they could fire him and receive the bad publicity? Really?

From the article you provided:

The argument that Grenell could essentially not be openly gay and serve on a GOP presidential campaign was belied by the fact that Grenell has been a loyal Republican for many years, working for esteemed foreign policy figures including former Ambassador to the U.N. John Bolton.

So, it appears that he wasn't targetted just for being openingly gay, but for pushing issues that he was not hired to address.

No targeting, just more liberals slop.

Stop being a drooling idiot. He was chased out of Romney's campaign for being gay. Conservatives even crowed about it.

Stop the silly attempt at "spin". It's makes you look ridiculous.

They will restore this country to its former greatness. First thing they need to pass the Presidential Golfing Act that allows POTUS to spend the rest of his term golfing and approving whatever Congress sends him

The GOP will do the same thing they have been doing - catering to the 1%, destroying the middle class, voting against job creation and economic recovery.

I also think we can expect a lot more expensive and phony votes to repeal ObamaCare and, if they can, there will be more phony scandals that they just have to "investigate".

Nothing will change for the Repubs. They will continue to be on vacation for most of the year, playing golf, traveling at our expense. Boehner and McConnell won't do their jobs now any more than they have in the past.

Meanwhile, the president will continue doing what he has always done - his job.

We should use the IRS to strip Media Matters of their Tax exempt status (this should boost the economy) and turn the NSA against all those Domestic Terrorists who call themselves "Progressives"

^ that

you're a hoot Frank1400PennAve

Mitch McConnell said the first thing he wants to do is reform corporate Tax.

Republicans on the USMB say, "Oh, but US corporate taxes are the highest in the world", completely ignoring what corporations actually pay. What tools.

Get those 40 job bills rocking thru the Senate. Keystone Pipeline. So many good bills that have been collecting dust with old Harry the Congress can rock on thru the Senate.

YAY!
