Hardly a "proud liberal". Democrats have drifted so far to the left that JFK would be considered conservative today. Trump and Teddy Roosevelt have a lot in common. Roosevelt took a bullet to the chest that his his eyeglass case and continued his speech and Trump raised his fist in defiance when a bullet narrowly ended his life. The strange thing is that most presidents who were assassinated or came close to assassination were republicans.
