When Capitalism becomes Socialism

So what should be done?

Nothing, capitalism works like this, if you don't like a corporation don't shop with them, if you don't like what they pay don't work for them. If you don't have the skills to find better employment get the skills

Don't get me wrong, if someone buried their own grave having five kids and a career at Walmart, that's on the parents.

It's difficult to "shop elsewhere" when the lowest prices are located at monopolies of sorts.

I was alluding more towards Amazon but I get your meaning

Interesting how liberals narrate that its Republicans who represent the wealthy. Once again they're wrong, but as usual they're just parroting what they've been told. Reality has nothing to do with liberal rhetoric.

Jeff Bezos (Amazon) and the Waltons (Walmart) are the wealthiest people on Earth. They have a combined wealth of over a 1/4 trillion dollars. They're also bottom dwellers of humanity. Of course they lean Democrat, ask yourself why. They could give a flying fuck about anyone but themselves.

They pay their employees in small rations, thus a large portion of their employees are on WELFARE. The taxpayer is supporting their employees so they're raping all of us. I don't care how conservative/free-market/capitalist a person is, this is inexcusable. This isn't capitalism, they're practicing socialism.

Both are actually examples of capitalism at its most pure. Capitalism is much like evolution, the strong survive and thrive, the weakest die off
Then it was never Capitalism to begin with. Capitalism was set up for all people to take part in the game. It was never designed for the 1% only. That is why people experienced their greatest quality of life for their buck when companies were taxed at 80 to 90%. Corporations during those decades worked for us, and we prospered. Now it's the other way around.

Under capitalism everyone is in the game and has a chance to win, but not everyone will. Capitalism does not ensure victory, just the chance for it.
Negative! Crony Capitalism is an equal opportunity employer for Corporatism and I proved it with the actual data through the Vulture chart. Where is your chart, that proves I'm wrong? There's 99% of the population that have proven Capitalism has been a total failure, where the 1% have a massed a 270% pay increase at the expense of flat wages for the rest of the country. And that has been going on for forty years.

Personally, I'm still waiting to see what happens when people become educated on the subject before talking about capitalism vs socialism. Because most of the time, these conversations about as useful as coat color when distinguishing dogs from cats.
Not if you produce proven sources; Introducing Ed's 'vulture chart' The education is already in front of you. Don't believe me? Fine! If you really want to know the truth, see if you can find a link that totally debunks the graph I presented. The graph by the way, was produced by the Centers for Tax policy.

Are you some kind of Utopian capitalist or something?
Are you someone who will be the first to debunk the facts I presented? No! Now, have got any more stupid questions you want to lay out for us on this board?

They aren't practicing Socialism either. They're practicing Corporatism. The only time in this countries existence where we even remotely resembled Capitalism, was when the wealthy paid 80 to 90%. Since then, the wealthy make 270% more because of the tax cuts versus the 99% flat wages. And it still hasn't changed. Introducing Ed's 'vulture chart'

You are very confused as to what Corporatism is.

Difference Between Capitalism and Corporatism | Difference Between

Capitalism is a social and economic system which recognizes individual rights, including the right to own properties and the possession of goods for the individual’s personal consumption. Corporatism, on the other hand, is a form of economy that was created as an option to socialism and intends to achieve social justice and equality without the need to take away private property from individual members of society. It stresses the positive role that government has in ensuring social justice while restraining social unrest as people look after their self-interests.

Ironically, what you are calling for is actually Corporatism

Your chart is what one should expect from capitalism, some will rise to the top and control most of the resources. Once again survival of the fittest where the strong thrive and the weak do not.

Sam Walton was just a normal Joe that turned out to be very good at doing what he did. He came from modest means and became the richest man in the nation...that only happens under capitalism, it can happen in no other system.

The same can be said for Jeff Bezos, he had no distinct advantages in life...he just was one of the exceptional ones.

Bill Gates started off better than most of us, but nothing like what he became.

Hell, my family is living evidence of what capitalism is and what it can do. Less than 7 years ago we were a family of 4 with an income less than 45,000 a year and deeply in debt due to a combination of bad luck and bad choices.

But we were not satisfied with that life, and decided to do something about it.

I finished my Bachelors I had started years before and then got a Masters and completed two certificate programs in the process. As I was finishing this my wife, after 15 years as a stay-at-home mom my wife went to nursing school and got her license. Fast forward to today and we are basically debt and according to the Fed Govt are in the top 10% of wager earners in the country. (which is a surprisingly low amount). Our daughter finished nursing school herself just two weeks ago and took her state boards, passing with the minimum number of questions required.

This is what capitalism provides, and no other economic system can do this.

These socialists never stop to realize that while there are some extremely wealthy in the top 10% 99.9% of that group is no where near that league.
