I knew a woman who was an OKish student in high school (barely holding a low B average) and was rejected from all the strong colleges she applied to. Nobody wants to go backwards except the Trump Cult. They want the USA of 1950's television families - Father Knows Best. When the only faces you saw on TV or in the movies, were white ones. It was a TV show. "Father" was an alcoholic. The kids were into drugs, and sex, but you never saw any of that on TV.

Last but not least, one of the features of the Roosevelt's New Deal Legislation, and the Johnson's Great Society Legislation, was the equitable distribution of income between the working, middle and upper classes. This is the main requirement for a successful capitalist economy - a healthy and thriving middle class, to purchase it's goods and services.

Republican tax and labour law, destroyed that equity, gutted the unions, stagnating income, and tilting the well balanced economic plate to the top 10%. If the USA doesn't rebalance the tax and labour codes back to a more equitable distribution of income, your economy will continue to erode.

Currently, 80% of income flows to the top. This is not economically sustainable. The working and middle class need an equitable share of the economic pie, or your nation will not survive. Greed is NOT good.

This is economics 101.
