Where are the jobs, Mr. President?

They "were" over $4 and then Bush opened up the reserves to correct that problem (and it did).
BULLSHIT! Congress still restricted drilling therefore supplies didn't change one little bit.

The gas thing is dishonest bs...ALSO.

Indisputable proof that what you said is another franco Dumbocrat lie:

  • The POTUS controls all permits for drilling (both offshore and onshore). So unless you don't understand simple supply & demand (not to mention competition), then you clearly know that the POTUS in facts overwhelmingly controls gasoline prices.

Bush leased the land to big oil who sit on the leases to keep them out of the hands of their competition who might develop them. Bush, a big oil shill, helped feed their monopolizing the leased federal lands. Right now big oil sits on over 7,000 approved drilling permits.

That is why most increased crude production is coming from private lands that big oil cannot monopolize.

Try waiting until it's up and running and insurers really start competing. What do you have against transparent competition anyway. Of course you been told bubkis that's true...

That's the comical part junior - despite spending ungodly amounts of money - the Dumbocrats are too stupid to get it "up and running". They can't even build a freaking website. It's literally the most expensive website in world history and it don't work.

And I have nothing against "transparent competition". In fact, I live for that. Competition is what drives down prices while improving products. Sadly though, the Dumbocrats don't believe in competition. They believe in handouts and avoiding work. Which is why Obamacare doesn't create "transparent competition". Instead, it creates government control, failure, and waste (as Dumbocrat policy always does).

BULLSHIT! States still restricted drilling therefore supplies didn't change one little bit.

The only states restricting energy production (drilling/fracking/coal/etc.) are Dumbocrat states genius. They are the one's with the failed immature "green" energy fantasy.

And by the way, it is an indisputable fact that gasoline was $1.84 per gallon on the day that Barack Obama was sworn in. It is now $3.69 per gallon (or an astounding 95% increase in only 5 years). The only "bullshit" is the drivel you post junior.

  • Bush opened up the reserves creating more supply and causing the price of gasoline to plummet. That is something the POTUS has direct control over and effects price.

  • The POTUS and his failed party can eliminate (or at least lower) the gas tax - that would immediately lower prices and that is something they have complete control over.

  • The POTUS controls all permits for drilling (both offshore and onshore). So unless you don't understand simple supply & demand (not to mention competition), then you clearly know that the POTUS in facts overwhelmingly controls gasoline prices.

Now show us oil production on wells on US land, during the same periods....

I've shown you enough junior. So much in fact that you can't even dispute anything I have said. I've shown you how gas was $1.84 per gallon on the day that Obama took office. I've shown you how it is now $3.69 per gallon. I've shown you how that is a 95% increase. And I've shown you how the POTUS has overwhelming control over the price of gasoline.

Now you show us how you can be a big boy and admit that Obama has failed the American people. When the price of gasoline temporarily spiked under GWB the left went ape-shit and said Bush was failing the American people. But when it permanently shoots through the roof under Obama, you blind partisan hacks claim "the POTUS has no control over gas prices". Funny, you had a vastly different narrative during the Bush Administration.

It is also is an indisputable fact that Bush accomplished that low price by destroying the WORLD'S economy. Thank you very much! :asshole: Before the Bush World Depression gas was over $4.

As far as coastal states that blocked drilling before, during and after Bush did the TOKEN act of lifting the federal ban on offshore drilling, one was Bush's own brother in Florida, hardly a Democrat!!! :asshole:

BTW, the federal ban on offshore drilling was put in place by Bush I, again not a Democrat! :asshole:

Could you please provide some documentation (and you can shove DailyKos and Salon) to back up your claims. Following this thread has been a real pain with your absolute claims and total vacuum of support.

Typical Bush "Symbolism over Substance" bullshit!

As Pelosi pointed out, "The Bush plan is a hoax. It will neither reduce gas prices nor increase energy independence. It just gives millions more acres to the same companies that are sitting on nearly 68 million acres of public lands and coastal areas,"

Big oil had already manufactured excuses why they would not develop the newly opened areas even if Congress and the states allowed it, proving Pelosi 100% correct!

Bush Rescinds Father's Offshore Oil Ban

Lifting the presidential moratorium has no immediate effect on exploration because Congress has enacted its own prohibitions on offshore drilling every year since the 1980s as part of the Interior Department's appropriations bill, and congressional Democrats yesterday vowed to do so again.
But Bush's move carries symbolic and political significance on an emotional issue in an election year.

But some oil companies have conceded that limits on skilled manpower and drilling equipment would make it difficult to increase offshore drilling in the near future.

Thank you.

I agree with you on this. Nobody can control energy prices (Bush or Obama) because the markets are so large and global.

Additionally, there is a lag in any development (drilling project). Even if you get the hole drilled, you still have to gather. And if you don't have the refining capacity......

I am not a fan of GWB.

Awww...is the 'ill Dumbocrat seething over the reality that he blindly worships a failed ideology?

It is not an "indisputable fact" that gas prices dropped because of the Dumbocrats tanking the world's economy. What is indisputable is that Bush opened up the reserves because, unlike Dumbocrats (such as yourself) - he understood basic supply & demand.

He can't provide documentation because he literally makes up everything. And he gets very frustrated by documented facts.

Actually, gas prices came down because Booshies wrecked the world economy. Welcome to planet Earth, Beckbot. Jeeesh! Functional idiot. You think opening up the reserves brought down the price of gas $2.50? LOL

Isn't the US the #1 oil producer now, or something like that?

So why are gas prices still so high? Domestic production exceeds foreign imports. Oil companies are posting record profits. Why are our gas prices so high if we're producing so much of our own oil?

Because our oil industry is not nationalized and it is all sold on the global market.
Sure. And building the Keystone XL pipeline will lower gas prices for Americans?

It certainly will create jobs and help the economy.
The Keystone IS going to happen whether it goes through on our soil or not. We should capitalize on the opportunity.

Well that pipeline will sure make it easier to ship American oil to seaports so it can be shiped overseas.
