"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a Sign that the US Government cannot pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. ...Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that 'the buck stops here'. Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and Grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better."

Does anyone know who said this quote?

I find it funny how he voted no because he said we needed to cut spending. Yet, he's saying the exact opposite and how the R might hold the country "hostage" if they don't vote to raise the debt ceiling.

Who said that? A hypocritical, petulant, narcissistic asshat who puts 'winning' and 'party' over country. Amiright?

Everyone knows who said it... What other reason could there be to bring it up?

You have to wonder if he wishes he could have that moment, that speech, back... Though I don't think I've seen it brought up outside of message boards. It's not like anyone in the media is going to mention it...
