Why Dante Thinks The Reverend Billy Graham Is An Imbecile

He is saying he believes in America because of Jesus Christ. What does one have to do with the other? Did this Jesus Christ ever mention America? Did this Christ bless America? If he did, when did this occur...when slave were brought here or later?:eusa_whistle:

Mormons believed Jesus lived in America. Are you Mormon?

That makes a weird kind of sense since the founders of Mormonism were crazy Americans in the way Billy Graham is. They see America as some kind of blessed place.

But seriously, what does America have to do with Christianity?

"Religion played a major role in the American Revolution by offering a moral sanction for opposition to the British--an assurance to the average American that revolution was justified in the sight of God. As a recent scholar has observed, "by turning colonial resistance into a righteous cause, and by crying the message to all ranks in all parts of the colonies, ministers did the work of secular radicalism and did it better."

Ministers served the American cause in many capacities during the Revolution: as military chaplains, as penmen for committees of correspondence, and as members of state legislatures, constitutional conventions and the national Congress. Some even took up arms, leading Continental troops in battle.

The Revolution split some denominations, notably the Church of England, whose ministers were bound"

A deal was cut to validate it to the worlds eyes at that time, from what I recall. YMMV

I'll stfu know...

During the American revolution colonists had to decide which side to support.
Very few Christian churches in the colonies sided with the revolutionaries.
The majority of the churches in the colonies were Anglican, The Church of England.
Most of the support of the Torries, the enemies of our revolution, came from those churches. Many churches opposed the revolution because the costs associated.
Many states allowes church members of certain religions to pay 3 or 4 times more taxes to avoid military service as pacifist status (Quaker, Menonite, Moravians and Dunkers)
After we kicked the Torries asses 100,000 of them fled to Canada and back to England.
