Why did some refuse to continue the walk after seeing George Bush in Selma?

It's quite simple. They felt his family stole the election. That his monstrous invasion of Iraq costs too many lives. The lies behind the invasion. The torture. The felt Bush is the opposite of everything MLK stood for.

You can't blame them. It's a point of view very easy to understand.

I was glad to see Bush there, it shows respect

Too bad so many other Republicans avoided it

Democrats (JFK) illegally tapped MLK's phone and placed him under surveillance by an army of Feds while they used the federal bureaucracy to undermine MLK's reputation. The democrat party comprised the majority of membership in the KKK. Every war in the bloody 20th century started during a democrat administration. Truman sent Troops to Korea under a presidential order and LBJ used a fake crisis to get the US into Vietnam and they hate George Bush?

Those that refused to continue to show support for the event that helped try to rid this country of a vile hatred, did a great disservice
to the main reason for the walk.
Shame on them.

Because they are as petty and childish as you are.

True as all that may be, Selma wasn't about Iraq, it was about racism and civil rights. And for all Bush's faults, and they are myriad, I've never known racism to be one of them.

Truman.. Truman... you mean the Truman who integrated the military, called for civil rights and had the Southern faction of his own party walk out of the convention, start their own party and run their own candidate against him that nearly cost him the election? That Truman? LBJ? You mean the LBJ who pushed for the CRA in 1964 at the expense of politically losing that same faction? That LBJ? JFK? You mean the JFK who came up with the CRA bill in the first place? That JFK?

Yeah, can't fathom why they aren't more hated. That thar's a head scratcher.

Monsters under the bed! Monsters under the bed!

Because some people are just a bunch of whiny little bitches that will never be happy, no matter how much support they are shown.

Because he's white.

Some feel LBJ was behind MLK's assassination also

So where's your proof that anyone refused to do anything? You got a link to support your claims or did you just pull this one out of your ass as usual?

"You are the one who sent Kennedy to Washington. You’re the one who put the present Democratic administration in Washington, D.C. The Whites were evenly divided. It was the fact that you threw 80% of your votes behind the Democrats that put the Democrats in the White House. When you see this, you can see that the Negro vote is the key factor. And despite the fact that you are in a position to be the determining factor, what do you get out of it?

Democrats have been in Washington, D.C. only because of the Negro vote. They’ve been down there 4 years and all the legislation they wanted to bring up they brought up and got it out of the way, and now they bring up you. You put them first and they put you last, cause you are a chump (huge applause). A political chump." -- Malcolm X

Because they are full-of-shit, hypocritical assholes who don't give a fuck about anybody but themselves?

You're right, it is very easy to understand... leftists are miserable, useless fucks.

Because Lincoln was a Republican, these USMB Right Wingers have somehow imagined that it was confederate conservatives who freed the slaves. Talk about rewriting history.
