Another detriment to Paul's campaign was the media. Trump and Sanders have received millions upon millions in free press while Ron and Rand were largely ignored.

Exactly. Ron Paul preached ideas that nobody wanted to hear. He didn't promise an easy path. In fact he promised the complete opposite, but hoped it would make for a better future. Now we have a liberal who wasn't a Republican until he started running, and a socialist who wasn't a Democrat until he started running. The average voter is a jackass.

Stripping citizens of federal rights, tossing the issue back to the states where those rights could be turned into crimes.
