It is estimated gun violence costs this country 300 billion a year. so, yeah, we should have a say about who gets a gun, and just because some Slave Rapists couldn't properly word a Militia Amendment, is not a good reason for the insanity.

Is it fair that some low skilled worker that earns minimum wage his/her entire working career will get out of SS far more than they put in after just a few years while people like my dad who earned a high wage and now draws, unless he lives to a very old age, won't get out what he was forced to put in?

Why do you ASSume that those of us who would rather invest our own money as we see fit will have to be taken care of. I have invested wisely and as it stands now, SS will be a bonus. I'll be more than happy to take it whether I need it or not for the sole reason that I was forced to put into it. I will gladly do so whether someone else needs it more than me.

I have wanted to start a, "GOP winless" thread for a while now. I have never seen such a gutless GOP display of telling the American people one thing to get elected then immediately throwing in with the very same Democrat agenda voters voted against. How many years has it been now since the GOP had a win 8? Meanwhile the Democrats gave us government mandated healthcare, trillions in new spending, millions of new illegals, executive order amnesty, thousands of jobs killing regulations, freaks appointed to the SCOTUS.
