Answer: Conservatives adopted extreme positions on wedge issues:
  • Gun control
  • Immigration
  • Gay & Lesbian equal rights
  • Equal pay for equal work
  • Minimum wage
  • Voting Rights
  • Abortion
  • Failure to stand up to growing racism
  • Calling all Republicans who challenge them on the above issues RINO's.
Additionally, fiscal conservatives have evolved into being fiscally irresponsible, and the Republican Leadership has put their jobs first and caved by supporting the extremism which has taken over the GOP.

Both major parties, in the past, have taken the high road in terms of human rights. Today the Crazy New Right has shown nothing but contempt in their callous disregard for human rights.

Ask yourself if their ideology incorporates human rights into each of the bullet points above? Maybe they feel human rights need to be respected by China, Iran, Russia, etc. but not in the United States of America. Moral Relativism seems alive and well in the Right Wing in America.

CrusaderFrank is well known as someone who will post an idiot-gram in place of anything of substance. If he had the intelligence he might have tried to offer a rebuttal to the question and answers posted in the OP; that he does not is well known too.

Why is there no Labour Party in the U.S.?
Because the liberals who would populate it adopted such extreme measures they could never get elected. As Democrats just proved in the last election.
Id swear CumCatcher and Billy Triple Zip are merely socks for each other.

Most Americans are politically retarded and think there are only two possible positions to take on any issue.

I'm more interested in your definition of 'extreme positions' than I am in your characterization of conservatives. Just because they disagree with you doesn't necessarily make them 'extreme'.

Perhaps you could expand on that?

If they did, someone may read their platform and ask them if they "really" mean it. One on one, most would snicker and say "nah".

Most real Conservatives would have a similar view on at least 85% of the issues you listed.

"It is none of the government's business".

.

If we believe what we read on this board, Conservatives are an endangered species.

They've been replaced by rabid RWs, gleefully and blindly following nutters like Ted Cruz over the cliff.

But what we read here is that they want more and more laws to control every aspect of "other people's" lives.

They don't just want Big Government. They want HUGE Government.

Another far left irony impaired post!

Follow the money:

Heavy Hitters Top All-Time Donors 1989-2014 OpenSecrets

Then again to the far left hates anyone that is not far left.

And the far left gutted the DNC of any type of Conservative Democrat so that goes to show that the far left hates anyone that will interfere with them forcing the far left religion on the masses.

  • Gun control Nothing extreme about keeping the right.
  • Immigration giving a pass to criminals is extreme
  • Gay & Lesbian equal rights If you are talking about marriage, I agree
  • Equal pay for equal work This is a debunked lie
  • Minimum wage repeating a failed idea is extreme
  • Voting Rights utter non-sense repeated by nutters
  • Abortion Killing a living child isn't extreme?
  • Failure to stand up to growing racism Obama created this hate and division with his disrespect to America

another fail by a failure

The "national conservative party" is the republicans these days, didn't used to be so divided along ideological lines that you could call either party conservative or liberal. What we have now are just two plutocratic factions devoted to two different business models and nothing that helps anyone not directly engaged in big business.

Ted Cruz is in favor of fiscal restraint and limited government. If that sounds radical to you I'd suggest you're the one over the cliff.

Actually, the real answer to your question has to do with the evolution of partisan politics in the United States. The problem is that nowadays there's scarcely a true conservative (nor liberal) in existence. In the 21st century it's all about partisanship for the sake of partisanship. Both sides are happy to take up whatever belief serves their partisanship.
