It’s not just Ferguson—here’s how the system protects police.

Can the cops be controlled? It’s never been easy: according to one old sociological chestnut, the monopoly on the legitimate use of violence is what defines modern government, and this monopoly is jealously protected against the second-guessing of puny civilians.

Why It s Impossible to Indict a Cop The Nation

It's America, baby. Be careful of cops.

Absolutely. Stop committing crimes and you never have to worry about cops.

Welcome to America's 2nd coming of the old witch hunts.

America has a segment of its population that wants cops strung up to die in jail or worse. Its that simple. The witch hunt is on I suppose.

Tipsy - Wait until you are doing nothing wrong one day, and are assaulted by an over-zealous police officer. I've been there, there are few more helpless feelings in the world than that. Went to internal affairs and reported it, nothing happened (imagine that).

PGreen - not a bad article, except for the liberal "it's the gun's fault" part in the middle. It also failed to mention how we really SHOULD fix this problem - by voting locally for politicians who support peace officers, and not militarized officers.

Cops almost never get Indicted. Except for the ones who get Indicted.

South Carolina Has Indicted 3 Cops in 4 Months for Shooting Unarmed Black Men - The Root

Funny how those didnt make the news....even happened in supposedly racist red state SC.

BAD cops get charged often. Problem for the racial witch hunters is...there just arent enough bad cops to make it often enough for their likes.

Bucs - most cops are great. However the problem is the thin blue line where the good cops protect the bad ones. Add to that the militarization of the police and we have a problem. The pendulum has swung too far, and needs to be pushed back.

Nobody, except you, is talking about a witch hunt.

Long overdue in some cities.

White ex-cop charged in killing of black man in SC

The Associated Press ^

ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) — A white former police chief here was indicted on murder charges in the 2011 shooting death of an unarmed black man after an argument, a case that instantly drew comparisons to the Ferguson shooting and the chokehold death in New York. The indictment of Richard Combs, the former chief and sole officer in the small town of Eutawville (YOO'-tah-vihl), was released Thursday. He faces 30 years to life in prison if convicted in the death of Bernard Bailey. Combs' lawyer accused prosecutors of taking advantage of national outrage toward police and the justice system to get...

Wait until the cops get fed up and go on strike, and your house is looted and your wife, sons and daughters gangraped.

Cops CANNOT strike...doing so is a criminal act. Fire a few thousand, lock up a few hundred, put a dozen or so into general population so they end up shanked, the rest will fall into line.
